Music, Movies, and Books
Lots of things, but for books I'm more likely to read scifi or academic stuff (hey I'm an academic). As for music, I favor "indie rock", but also enjoy some good synth-pop or EBM once in a while. Always fun to go dancing.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
How about a couple?
I got drunk with Black Francis from the Pixies once. It's an interesting story.
I've been scuba diving all over the world. I used to work for a dive magazine.
I make really amazing pork shoulder. Every year I have a party I make 50-60lbs of pork. I call it "Pork of July"
I was able to train with the Soke of Araki Ryu Iaido in Himeji Japan. It was incredible to work with someone that had the art passed down over generations.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a professor at a local university. I love teaching.
However, I specifically want to cook and share cooking techniques and recipes with people. I love traveling and trying new cuisine and drinks, especially beer and cider.
I also love new music - share with me who you are, what gives you passion. I will do the same.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good places to eat and drink around town, good food, and good conversation, if I'm available. Otherwise, make yourself at home.
