About Me

I've spent the last 6 years of my life travelling on and off having visited India 4 times, and spent time travelling around Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, New Zealand, Laos, Malaysia, Borneo and Greece. I haven't been everywhere but it's on my list.

I spent 4 years living and working as a TEFL teacher in Thailand as well as a small stint in a bar in Koh Chang.

I never know what to write on these things err...

I'm currently in Melbourne trying to find work as have my Australian working holiday visa though am debating heading North for the winter.

I do like to, and know how to party but don't do it as often as I used to (lets say currently once every few weeks rather than every night, ha), in fact I'm quite happy chatting and sharing stories around a fire, sat on a beach or in a tree or just generally being amongst nature alone or in the company of like minded humans. Love being around animals also.

I like to meditate and keep trying to get myself into yoga though I easily convince myself of reasons not to do either.

I'm also vegan though this doesn't in any way mean I have issues with meat eaters, or do I push my views on anyone. in fact most my friends think it's funny to wave meat in my face. I'd prefer you didn't quite do that but otherwise all good

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd like to go to places and get the inside info on the area I am staying as well as meeting people from all walks of life. Well, obviously I'd like to get around cheaply also. Many of my friends have been couch surfing or put up couch surfers and I've met many awesome people staying with them and heard some awesome stories so I'd like to give it a go too. It's nice to think that it's possible to get by by without much money. I'd also love to share my experiences and learn about other peoples.

Interests

Travelling, festivals, nature, animals, photography, arts and crafts, swimming and just generally playing the game of life.
I wouldn't say no to a good board game or theatrical or art event either

Music, Movies, and Books

I love most music - Indie, Rock, Drum n Bass, Dub, Reggae, Punk, Opera, Jazz, 80's, well most things really. Psytrance and what they class as R n B these days aren't my faves but doesn't mean I won't sing/dance along anyway.

Books- Harry Potter, The Northern Lights Trilogy, The End of Mr Y, The Power of Now, The Secret History of the world.

In fact I love reading anything about religion or about ideas which differ from the history we've been taught. I guess some of it is classed as 'conspiracy' but yeah

Movies- all the 80's classics, Goonies, Back To The Future, Edward Scissor Hands, Batteries Not Included etc. Fight club, The Matrix, Harry Potter, Disney,The Fountain, The Tree of Life, What Dreams May come, Big Fish,....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wow, hard to say, I've done so many amazing things, probably seeing a teaching by the Dalai Lama and only being metres away from him. I have never felt so much energy or seen such a happy human being.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach- English, Learn anything on offer though some vegan recipes and photography tips would be nice, Share experiences and recipes

What I Can Share with Hosts

Obviously I can share my experiences and information about places I've visited. Can also help with teaching English if needs be. Not sure any of my other talents are even talents or things people want me to share with them. ha

I'm quite good at cooking and am happy to teach any recipes I know though mostly I make them up on the spot
