Overview
About Me
I just retired and am on the move, currently. I hope to settle in Tucson, soon. My little chihuahua is the love of my life. She is seldom far from my side, unless someone in the room has food.......though she is not allowed people food, she always hopes the other guy doesn't know that. Once in a great while she gets lucky.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I was a housesitter in a home that took couchsurfers. They were the nicest people ever, and they all told us that the people who take them in are the same way. For some reason, this activity attracts some extremely nice people....... my favorite kind. I'm in!
Interests
I taught myself to play the guitar, at 18. Then, in my 40s, I joined a fun band and learned a little bit of mandolin and electric bass. Then I moved to AZ, where I met and played with a banjo player for a while. I taught him a little mando and he taught me a little banjo. Then, I began on my love of loves, in the stringed instrument department. The tiny ukulele.........so much fun......so easy to learn and teach. I taught and led 2 ukulele clubs for about 5 years. One of our couchsurfing gals had a uke. I gave her a lesson and she soaked it all up like a sponge!

Music, Movies, and Books
For years I used to fall asleep to "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" and "Second Hand Lions".
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I worked in the most beautiful art gallery, in Bisbee, for 5 years. The gallery had been owned originally by a treatment center for homeless women and their children. It's a long beautiful story. If I visit you, you can ask me about the rest of it.
