About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Life is short, each day is precious so enjoy it!
ABOUT ME
My Dad was in the Marines and we moved quite a lot. After college I joined the peace corp and went to Kenya where I met and married my husband, Jim. He was also a volunteer. He got a job in Kenya and we stayed there for 6 years. Our first son was born there. We then moved to Indonesia and lived there for 8 years. We moved back to the states with the 3 boys and every year we would travel for a month somewhere in the world. Jim is retired now and takes college classes and fixes up the house. We just got back from a 4 month trip around the world and would love to meet travelers from all over. We really miss young people as our boys have grown up and live out of town. I work with elderly people that are isolated in our community. We love a glass of wine and good conversation. I am not a great cook. sorry
PHILOSOPHY
We are all the same and we all have a great story to tell. We have never met someone that didnt have something interesting that has happened to them. We feel very fortunate in our lives and feel that it is important to give back. We also love to laugh, life is too short to worry!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I heard about couch surfing from my son, Shawn. It sounded like a great way to meet people and help out at the same time. Shawn was a peace corp volunteer in Morocco at the time and he loved when someone would come through and stay with him. We were inspired to try this.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We have never done this and we look forward to trying it ourselves sometime.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love many different kinds of books and movies. A good Steven King novel is wonderful and thriller films are a favorite. I try to read a fiction book and then a nonfiction book. I read a lot and just got a kindle. I look forward to reading even more now. We don't listen to a lot of music. If the radio is on we are listening to NPR. Love that station.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My husband just retired and we took 4 months to go around the world. We were in 21 countries and had the most amazing time ever. We had friends meet us in different countries and it was great to share the journey with so many friends. We never take tours, we just get to a country and then figure it out as we go. We made some great memories.
Teach, Learn, Share
Jim had a successful import business and he would be happy to share knowledge about that. I know quite a lot about children and their troubles. I have worked with abused children and tutored many children also. We have lived in many different environments too.
