About Me
Involved in the visual arts my entire life as artist, designer, illustrator and seeking the art of others.
I’m retired from The University if Alabama where my husband, who is from New Zealand has been a chem. prof. For 25 years. We have two daughters , Isadora , 36 , an artist in Asheville. She and her husband Yuri will make us grandparents in June. Zoë , 23, graduated from Duke two years ago and is working in Durham. I Love travel and meeting people. Shetland sheepdogs have been in my life for forty years.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe in the concept. I’m curious and I like meeting people. Also a budget traveler and appreciate a welcome and folks who are willing to share a space.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to audio books all the time especially when I drive or paint. I like fiction. Read everything by most of my fav authors. Oates, Kingsolver, Tyler, Chevalier too many to list. Huge Joni Mitchell groupie, but I love John Denver. Waiting for more great movies. I’m very interested in cinema
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Studied the Japanese tea ceremony for 10 and have been president of Ikebana chapter 137 birmingham Al for 8 years.
Teach, Learn, Share
I’m learning to quilt for the first time. I can teach and share about painting and flower arranging.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I always bring good wine. I can share my love of art and offer a free print of most of my work.
