About Me

"I haven't been everywhere, but it's on my list."

I'm not sure a paragraph can sum up an entire person, but I suppose I'll give it a go. My faith is extremely important to me, and beyond that, I love people, dancing, and board games... In that order. I'm currently working on getting my finances sorted so I can go back to school to work towards a master's degree in mental health counseling. I travel as far as I can as often as I can. I think getting outside of your own little corner of the world gives you a much deeper understanding of how the world works, and helps you be a better citizen of the Earth. A little perspective can go such a long way. I keep a very busy schedule, and hardly sit still for more than 10 minutes at a time, but I'm always happy to find friends along the way to share my adventures with.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I ventured onto Couchsurfing two summer's ago when I took a 6 week cross-country road trip with 9 of my friends, and we needed a place to stay for a few nights. The experience we had was better than I even imagined, and now I'm hooked! I travel often, and love the idea of a sharing travelling community! I finally have the ability to host (so far I have only surfed), and I'm excited about opening my home to other travelers.

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh my goodness, where to begin.... I love to read. Especially fiction books. I have enjoyed pretty much everything I've read by Ted Dekker or Frank Peretti. I like SciFi/Fantasy genres... The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan is my favorite series that I've read so far, but I have enjoyed Inkheart, Mistborn, the Hunger Games, The Zion Chronicles... and the list goes on and on. I also want to read "the classics" so I'm a little more well rounded, but I have such a long to-read list, I never seem to get around to it!

I really spend very little time in front of a television screen, but I'm a pretty avid fan of the Avengers movies and a HUGE Dr. Who fan. :)

I like happy sounding music. I don't really follow any artists... my playlist is a hodge podge of "happy" songs from all kinds of artists.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Oh my... how to pick just one...?
I think I'll go with my 6 week, cross-country, 30-state road trip with my incredible friends! We traveled 10, 613 miles, saw 3 national parks and 1 of the 7 wonders of the world, hiked a mountain, went white water rafting, performed a play in American Sign Language in 7 churches and a camp, watched the sun set on the Pacific ocean, had lunch in the Space Needle, and slid down a 10 story curly slide!!! Amazing friends, amazing memories, and an amazing summer none of us will ever forget!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am fluent in and can teach American Sign Language. I've also recently started swing dancing, and I LOVE it! If you come visit me, I can show you where to find swing dancing in Jax almost any night of the week. :D

I love to learn... pretty much anything. I think education is the key to success, and being well rounded is important because having a little knowledge in a wide variety of subjects helps people relate to each other and build relationships.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to trade stories about travels and adventures, and I can make some pretty tasty desserts. :)
