About Me

I'm kind, caring, generous. Vegan, socialist, atheist. Non smoker. I love animals, particularly cows and dogs. I love cake and baking. I work hard, love to travel and am very sociable. Don't have a lot of spare time but like to make the most of life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I hosted some people initially through a vegan page on FB who had been let down by a couch surfer, never heard of it before that and liked the sound of it. Great idea.

Music, Movies, and Books

Eclectic music taste, last record I downloaded was Father John Misty. Next gig is Billy Bragg. Favourite book of all time the Secret Garden, favourite film is Local Hero or Strictly Ballroom, maybe Cabaret??

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelled to South Africa, met a cheetah.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some good basic vegan cooking, including easy no bake cheesecake which people would marry me for!!! I could do some washing, ironing and mending if you are on a long trip, you can get a hot bath, wifi, I like to play scrabble and have a good collection of books and magazines to share. I'd love to learn a bit of another language and learn vegan friendly phrases to help when travelling.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Knowledge of the area, transport, great tasting vegan food, a comfy stay in a homely vegan household. If you are not vegan you are still very welcome however please do not bring any animal products or secretions, please be aware that some wine and many beers are NOT vegan. You should be willing to eat vegan food as sharing food is an important cultural aspect of travel. Thank you.
