Overview
About Me
My parents are from Peru and I was born in Oklahoma City. When I was five, we packed up all our stuff and drove to California and eventually made it to Long Beach, CA where I grew up.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I suppose I'm looking for the expat sort. People who have lived in many places and have that sort of insight into the world. I also love learning about new cultures, places, and things. My masters is in Spanish literature and linguistics and I am Peruvian, so I talk a lot about Latin America and draw comparisons between cultures. I identify as bi-cultural and can pass for someone born and raised in Latin America easily.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 14, I spent some days in the Amazon in Iquitos, Peru. We bartered with natives tribes. I gave them my scrunchy and they gave me a bow and arrow. I gave them my banana clip and they gave me one of those spitfire guns that native tribes make. I had no idea this was an amazing thing to have been a part of until years later. I always expected to relive the whole thing again some day haha. Those natives...they wear clothes now and I don't think they barter anymore. :(
I also spent a lot of time with the local monkeys and snakes in Iquitos. And, every day the people hosting us would make us fresh food using local meats. I had the time of my life.
