About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Escaping my comfort zone.

ABOUT ME

I'm Deborah and born in the magnificent year of 1991. I'm not rich, yet I still want to see the world. That's why I'm currently filling in all of these boxes, since this is a perfect way to really discover a country and its inhabitants. I met the love of my life this summer and although we just knew eachother for three months, he gave up his job,his house and his country to stay with me. His name is Thierry and he's friggin' awesome.
I like nature, animals, history, discussions (I'll show no mercy in a debate, you'll be warned!), flea markets, tea... I'm far more interested in the culture of a country than in social escapades like drinking and dancing (unless there's psytrance involved). I adore cats and hamsters (those crazy little psychopaths), but I'm a little bit scared of the enthousiasm of dogs. I can write fairly proper English, but I can kill it whilst speaking.

I think I could babble around all day, but I'm gonna stop here. Ask if you have more questions, and I'll be happy to reply. Valar morghulis.

PHILOSOPHY

Do everything you want to do, but don't you ever violate the rights of other people and their property. And be nice to animals.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have surfed for the first time in Ireland and it was amazing! I also accidentally surfed a caravan there. Normally I just ask people on the street tough.

Interests

Cheap antique stuff (from the stone age 'till Queen Vicky), flea-markets, walking in nature, hitchhiking, museums, animals, the way people think ...

Things I would LOVE to do:
- taxidermy
- dumpster-diving
- learn to be more green

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite singer of all time is Emilie Autumn, but I also like Blind Guardian, The Real McKenzies, Fiddler's Green, Marilyn Manson, Loreena McKennitt, Flogging Molly... Everything of quality.

I'm trying to read all the 'important' books of history. I've read and enjoyed Tolkien, Dostojevski, Tolstoj, Louis Couperus, Tom Lanoye, Herman Brusselmans, Louis Paul Boon, Salman Rushdie, Jeroen Brouwers, Hubert Lampo... And Horrible Histories, ofcourse.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing? Boy, I get to see so much. From a little fat bird 'till the pyramids in Egypt. It might even be that I appreciate the little fat bird more.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can knit, have good ideas for the classroom (we're speaking about 11 'till 18-year-olds here) and my boyfriend is the best cook I've know. He makes delicious meals, including his famous breakfast with toast and omelets and more! He also loves to cook for lots of people when it comes to dinner. I'm going to get so fat one day.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A nice chat with someone who can talk and listen. Perhaps a different kind of view. And I know a bit of taxidermy, yay. My boyfriend could whip up something good to eat with minimal ingredients.

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Kosovo, Macedonia, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia

Countries I’ve Lived In

Belgium
