About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live mindfully

ABOUT ME

Regretably, I have to put couchsurfing on hold because I am relocating to PERTH! Hopefully can start hosting again in 2012. Cheers!
I'm married, two boys and Nev, my husband. I have always had a love of the French language and in 2009 I indulged my dream of immersion in the French language by traveling in France (on my own)- and doing some couchsurfing! which I enjoyed so much, I want to return the favour. This way I connect with a country through its people. I am lucky to have a connection in Europe, as my sister lives in Geneva, where she is working for WHO.

PHILOSOPHY

Carpe diem! Every experience has a positive side.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting and I hope couch surfing again in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In 1995 you could say I "couch surfed" (in style!) for 5 weeks through Oklahoma, USA, staying with many host families as part of a Rotary Group Study Exchange. I found out that I am perfectly comfortable staying with and fitting in with complete strangers (they aren't for long!). On the other hand, our family hosted a "couch surfer" for a year - a young German exchange student, who we still regard as our surrogate son.

In 2009 I couchsurfed with 2 fabulous hosts in Paris - can't wait to do it again!!

We've met great people hosting on and off over the last couple of years.

Interests

Reading (of course!), walking for fitness and enjoying views and nature, relaxation, conversation, current affairs, travel, live theatre, comedy, ballet, gardens and gardening, antique shops, brocante, book shops, old books
