About Me

¡Hola! Me llamo Débora .

Hi! Mi name is Débora.

I am from Ibiza, that mediterranean island unfortunately known because the party ,and the discos . Don't get me wrong, sometimes I enjoy going to the disco, but I like better rock n roll and drink beer in a pub with friends and being able to listen to them! Also I think that the island has better things to enjoy than the disco partys.

I like (love) music (specially rock and metal music but I listen to very different types of music; electronic music too :) ), cooking, reading, riding my bike, movies, meet new people and new countrys, learn idioms and chocolate.

I'm a tolerant and sensitive person, but I don't like everyone , and I don't try to make everyone like me. I always say what I think, I'm not the kind of person who lies to please others (or do anything to please others) and I like people who says what they think . I enjoy speaking and I talk a lot if a find the conversation interesting :) . Mi sense of humor it's kinda absurdist (I like monty phython a lot).

I question everything and maybe sometimes I think to much (and that's why I studied phillosophy... well, it's because of that and because I wanted to earn a lot of money and companys are getting crazy about hiring philosophers this days) but I try to live the present and to be happy :)

(Yes, I didn't translate, I just write different things in spanish than in english...)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

MUERE LENTAMENTE

y sentimientos.

Muere lentamente quien no voltea

Muere lentamente quien no viaja,
quien no lee, quien no oye música,

Muere lentamente, quien abandonando
un proyecto antes de iniciarlo,
no preguntando de un asunto
que desconoce o no respondiendo cuando le
indagan sobre algo que sabe.

Evitemos la muerte en suaves cuotas,
recordando siempre que estar vivo
exige un esfuerzo mucho mayor que
el simple hecho de respirar.

Solamente la ardiente paciencia hará
que conquistemos una espléndida felicidad.

Muere lentamente, Martha Medeiros.

Die slowly
He who becomes the slave of habit,
who follows the same routines every day,
who never changes brand,
who does not risk and change the color of his clothes,
who does not talk to people he doesn’t know
dies slowly.

He who makes television his guru
dies slowly.

He or she who shuns passion,
who prefers black on white,
and the dots on the "i" to a whirlpool of emotions,
precisely those that recover the gleam of the eyes,
smiles from the yawns,
hearts from the stumbling and feelings
dies slowly.

He or she who does not turn things topsy-turvy,
who is unhappy at work,
who does not risk certainty for uncertainty,
to thus follow a dream,
those who do not forego sound advice at least once in their lives,
die slowly.

He who does not travel,
who does not read,
who can not hear music,
who does not find grace in himself,
dies slowly.

He who slowly destroys his self love,
who does not allow himself to be helped,
who spends days on end complaining about his own bad luck,
about the rain that never stops,
dies slowly.

He or she who abandon a project before starting it,
who fail to ask questions on subjects he doesn't know,
he or she who don't reply when they are asked something they do know,
die slowly.

Let's avoid death in small doses,
reminding oneself that being alive requires an effort far greater than the simple fact of breathing.

Only a burning patience will lead
to the attainment of a splendid happiness.

Die Slowly , Martha Medeiros.
