About Me

I have geeky tendencies, love sports and movement at large, nature, watching good or horribly bad movies, music, science, vegan food, enjoying life's little pleasures, playing board games, random craziness and many other things. If you surf my couch, I might try to get you out of the city and into the wilderness for some canoing or hiking, or if it's a rainy day I'll try to get you to play board games. Consider yourself warned!

I think a lot of things are wrong in the society we live in and that it is important to consider it and put actions in order to change it. I try to have a positive impact on the world that surrounds me and take care of the people and the environment and consume responsibly. I'm a feminist and social justice advocate. Nevertheless, life is full of surprise and must be enjoyed, so I still try to not take everything too seriously and get as much from the opportunities that come to me :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I haven't really been on couchsurfing lately. I first joined because I liked the idea to connect with travelers from all around the world and I had the chance to couchsurf myself while travelling abroad. I still want to host people and, eventually, travel again and meet wonderful couchsurfers.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all kinds of book, from sci-fi to comic strips. I've made a lot of lists on my profile already, so I'll try not to make another of authors or books. I love comic books (though I'm more into comic books that gives insights into history or social movements, like Joe Sacco, and Quebec's own comic scene than Marvel/DC comics). I read essays on social justice (mostly feminism, anarchism and environmental issues). I also read all sorts of novels, from sci-fi to classics. If you have a great comic book author to recommend (especially one from where you come from), I'll do anything to host you.

I used to be a metalhead. I guess I still am, if you want to go for a death metal show I'll be glad to accompany you! I also listen to indie rock and other stuff.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Running with the wind on the Cliffs of Moher with two of the most fantastic persons I know, and swimming the the Great Barrier Reef.

Teach, Learn, Share

Due to my studies, I know a lot about health and the human body. I'm also a personal trainer, so if you need any advices on strength and conditioning, I can give you a hand! My academic background and interests also includes history, politics and philosophy, so I know some stuff in these areas. My other specialties include auto-derision, being clumsy and inappropriate, and cupcakes.

I'd really like to learn about where you're from, your language and random facts. Any Do-It-Yourself is welcome, and if you could teach me how to not kill my plants, I'd particularly enjoy it!
