关于我

CURRENT MISSION

Gain a better world view

ABOUT ME

I'm the type of person that doesn't so much think outside the box but more so questions where the box came from, why I'm thinking inside of a box, who put me in the box, and how many more minutes of air are left inside the box.

I'd probably be described as easy going and patient, quiet by those that don't know me too well and not so much by those that know me all too well.

I'm not exactly your flowery CSer that wants to just meet every damn person on the planet and is sunshine and rainbows.

I haven't hosted anyone in CR since moving here so I'm taking down my availability and will only be able to offer up advice on my profile. I haven't hosted because I live in a weird gated place that's annoying to let people in and out of and my life schedule has been a bit distracting and occupied.

I'll be editing the detail below over time.

Airport:

Bus Station 1:

Bus Station 2:

Pink Taxi Phone number: Metered pink/blue Taxi: 053.77.34.77. You can call 24 hours a day and their English isn't too bad. They are very friendly and in my experience, EXTREMELY punctual (not sarcasm)

Motorbikes: I can't recommend a place but I demand that you rent one. They make getting around unbelievably easy. A 125cc should be the minimum unless you're a pretty small person.

Helmets: Wear one.

Gas/Petrol: Don't say Gao-sib-ed (91) for the type of gas you want as this usually confuses the attendants. Ask for Gao-neung (nine, one). Yes, really.

Foreigner Bars: The place ALL backpackers go is Peace House on Jet Yod as it is very conveniently located. It's a fun place, go. Local young folk like myself also go here sometimes too.

Thai Nightlife: I know a ton of Thai places that are fun to go to (sometimes). If you're around my age, checkout Facebar west of the clocktower.

Chang Beer/Thai Alcohol: If you've noticed that hangovers in Thailand seem a bit too frequent, it might be what you're drinking. Thai alcohol (beer/whiskey) makes some heads hurt more than others. I for one can't drink any of it, it all makes my head throb even after a few sips and makes me feel pretty ill. Chang Export is held to a higher standards b/c it must meet standards of other countries (haha...). So if you find your head killing you pickup some gin, benmore, or pipers.

Nighbazaar: Farang clusterfuck, worth a stroll through (maybe?). The food is okay and cheap. The only truly good, worthwhile food is the pricier sushi place to the right of the stage.

Saturday Walking street: Clusterfuck of people, lots of food and things to buy/look at. It's from 4 (I think) till 10. I'd say the best time to get there before it's too crowded is 6-7.

Sunday Walking street: MUCH smaller than Saturday Walking street but just as good if not better than.

Bicycle Rental: I own a bicycle. But the people at Fat Free are very helpful, very kind, and some of them speak some alright English.

Day Market:

Central Plaza: Ahhhhh a mall. It has everything you'd expect in a mall. If you're feeling insane, go here and you're "home" if you know what I mean.

Doi Kaow Kwai/Overlook:

City overlook 1:

City overlook 2:

Khun Kon Waterfall:

Other Waterfall/Park with a name I can't remember:

Western Restaurants I've been to:

Western Restaurants I've heard are very good:

Korean Restaurant I've been to:

Universities:

White Temple: It's cool, check it out on your way to Khun Kon

Black House: It's cool, check it out on your way north.

Mai Sai:

Myanmar:

PHILOSOPHY

Empathy. Have it.

Do what you can with what you've got, it's all anyone can ask for.

Eat your cake while you've got it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed plenty and I'm in the hosting phase.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed around the perimeter of the US summer 2012 and had a good'ole time. Seeing so much, being a part of so much, covering so much ground, and meeting so many people shifted a lot of things for me.

兴趣

I like to stay active but vegetate an equal amount. I like to cook because I like to eat. I like to eat because I cook for myself. It's a delicious cycle.

Pastimes include going to the gym, reading, pulling at my facial hair, listening to music, playing pool, food, going for a jaunt to a thing.
