About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Get some damn independence already.
ABOUT ME
I'm a loud, creative, slightly abrasive nerd. I think about things, sometimes too much, and talk about things, often too much.
PHILOSOPHY
Do whatever would make the best story. It's nice to be happy, and vital to be loved, and wrong to hurt people, but above all else, have a good story to tell.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now I can't actually participate at all, unfortunately--live in someone else's house, and tied down by work. But come fall I'm hoping me and my roommates will offer our dorm couch, and after college I definitely want to take some time to travel.
Interests
I'm obsessed with stories. I read voraciously, write when I can make myself, do theatre constantly. I can improv storytelling-type stories on the spot. I'll wax philosophical about them if you like.
I also enjoy music (I sing and play a few things), webcomics, science (physics major), vidyagaems, political arguments (but not actual American politics, too infuriating), and arguments in general. I would like to be interested in travel! I would like it very much. As soon as I have the ability to travel, I will be interested in it!

Music, Movies, and Books
The Princess Bride, Dr. Horrible, Scott Pilgrim. Elvis Costello, Joe Jackson, The Clash, Harvey Danger, OK Go, the Mountain Goats, Bishop Allen. Diane Duane, Lois Bujold, Spider Robinson, Pratchett, Adams, Lev Grossman's "The Magician."
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I played the Baker in Into The Woods (it's a musical.) There's a number he sings, "No More," just after his wife dies--if you know the show, you'll know the one. It's completely heartbreaking and just a really good song. Getting to sing that onstage was pretty damn amazing.
I got really psyched when I realized that I understood tidal gravity. I know that doesn't seem that impressive, but I was just thinking about it one day and the whole concept clicked into place in my head. It's a very elegant idea and it went from not making sense to being beautifully self-evident all at once. It was cool.
Teach, Learn, Share
Physics--just undergrad, but I can tell you about the basics of quantum mechanics, the simple end of relativity, the workings of subatomic particles. And I'm pretty good at talking about it.
