About Me
CURRENT MISSION
With a little help, making the best out of my life. Try to do my part for the society.
ABOUT ME
Friendly, sometimes a bit concerned person. With a high interest in everything.
I am very interested in doing new things. Doing the new things is another step.
PHILOSOPHY
Live like you want to live. (I try it, but I know it is somethimes difficult) Don't force other people to do things they don't want to do.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
You can visit my place. And I try to arrange a trip by couchsurfing.
If you stay at my place, you must be tired and hungry because of that long trip you made that day. Don't worry about your stomach. I will cook for you when you arrive.
Breakfast is secured.
It's always interesting to show people your own city, because you see your city in a different way.
When possible I can show you around.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I spend one night on a couch in Lienden. It was a friendly and interesting experience.
I spend 3 nights in Massacre, Dominica at the place of Kirstyn Goncalves. And Walked with Aldo Schipper in Portsmouth.
In the beginning of 2013 I had my first guest at my house. It was very interesting to be a host instead of the visitor.
In August 2013 I had suddenly 4 duos as visitors! Each with their own stories, interests and personalities. I felt like a world traveler in my own City.
In June 2014 I surfed at 3 places in Engeland, during my cycling trip from Harwich to Lands End. See the references.
The family Lootsma also offered me to stay at their place while I cycled the Elfstedentocht.
In June 2015 I surfed at 2 places in Niedersachsen, during my cycling trip from Groningen to Hamburg.
I also had a guest who suddenly had to find a place to stay while studying in Groningen.
Interests
Acting, high buildings, action pack stuff (everything I did in New Zealand.)
My studentclub ASV Dionysos (I am a reunist now, but I want to get updated now and then how it goed with my former student fraternity), UFC Groningen Cycling, running.
Bootcamp with The Body Buddy.
I have a goal to cycle the Mont Ventoux and the Alpe d'Huez. Update! I finished my goal in cycling up the Ventoux!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2015 I Cycled from Groningen to Hamburg and and a little bit later I cycled through the Netherlands visiting family and friends. The Netherlands is a great country to cycle in.
In 2014 I cycled for just over 3 weeks from Harwich to Lands End. A little bit more experienced and a little bit less difficult environment and the pub and the people made it the 2nd best trip of my life!
In 2012 I cycled for 3 weeks in the Provence with a tent sleepgear, cooking stuff and clothes attached to my bike. It was one of the most physical challenging thing I have ever done, but it was a very interesting experience. I finally climbed up to the Mont Ventoux. That was a goal in my life.
In 2011 I travelled to Sint Maarten to visit an old friend of mine. I also visited Saba and Dominica. The last 2 islands have a fantastic nature to walk in.
In 2006 I went traveling to New Zealand. It was my first big trip alone. I was scared I couldn't do it, but I did it! And the more I think back about it, the more fun it looked.
I have seen a lot of Europe. Most of the time with my family and some cities with friends. And I went to Mexico for my study for 2 weeks, with other students.
For Study I went 2 times to Spain. And I spend some active vacations Belgium and Slovenia.
With a studentgroup I went to, Berlin, London, Budapest, Dublin, Edinburgh and Stockholm/Talinn.
As a kid I did I stayed a lot on campings with my parents and my little brother and sisters. Most of the time in France or just the Netherlands.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am good in trivial facts.
What I Can Share with Hosts
The more I speak, the more comfortable I feel. When I meet new people they know at the end everything from me, from my childhood till now, but I sometimes I cannot remember their name anymore.
