I am a regular person, with a regular job and I work hard and to save and travel. Like most people, I never have enough time to fit in everything I want to do. I like meeting people and sharing their stories - I'm not high-brow or high maintenance, I'm not philosophical or analytical. I treasure honesty and openness, respect for oneself and others and simplicity and decency.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I 'adopted' two Lions fans visiting NZ for the test series against the All blacks. It was great to offer genuine hospitality when most accomodation in the city was booked out, or overpriced. I enjoyed being able to show them my city and create some cool memories for them to go home with. It has inspired me to open my home to other travellers.

Teach, Learn, Share

Getting to know someone by experiencing their culture is the basis of travel for me. And whether the encounter is momentary and fleeting or longer lasting we establish a connectedness with the person, the food, the culture or whatever - through the sharing of that experience. We learn to appreciate what we have in our own lives and learn how to find joy in simplicity and giving of time to the moment.
