Mostly quiet and kind. Right now I have a car and handicap accessible senior apartment. I only want female guests and friendships .

PHILOSOPHY
I accepted Jesus as my Savior when I was ten years old and have a personal relationship with Him. Politically I am registered Non-partisan because I like to vote for whoever I think will get the job done. I think education is important and encourage people of all ages to get more. I love it when I learn new and interesting things.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Someone I met on Maui in 2010 was also from my hometown in Minnesota. We had fun there and he suggested I join this site.
To host an Aurora viewing homebase or summer visiting home base.
Go to museums and other places of interest in town. I also try to keep track of the bands/singers I like and where they are playing and of local dance events.
I can plan a day visit to Denali National Park of at least 5 hours.
I can plan fishing events and trips to local hotsprings and local museums, etc.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'd like to return to Dominican Republic to visit friends there. I'd like to go to Europe and Scandinavia. December 2014 I went to Graceland in Memphis, TN since I am an Elvis fan. Loved it and want to go back with a friend next time.

BY 2019, I've hosted almost 12 people.

Interests

I like to listen to music, read, drink coffee or tea. Play cards or board games to pass time with someone else. I try to read Bible and other meditative materials daily. It would be nice to spend time reading and sharing and praying together in addition to day trips.

Music, Movies, and Books

* for movies I like the old time musicals ESPECIALLY Elvis movies. I am building an Elvis dvd movie collection I already think I have most of his music on cd's and other media. I have alot of action movies, comedies and Netflix.
* For books, I've like biographies and autobiographies. I have read a lot of self-help books. I also have been collecting Alaskana books. I am making efforts to get my own writings published including my homestead stories.
* Christian music I really like have included Deneice Williams, Phil Driscoll, Our Daily Bread music. Recently I like Jamie Grace and Mandisa. Some current singers I like include Josh Turner, Bruno Mars, Darius Rucker and Hunter Hayes. I like Carrie Underwood, Adele, Pink, Katy Perry, Miranda Lambert.
* I like ballroom and swing dancing and linedancing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My favorite vacation was Maui. Memphis is now the place I'd like to return to also. Minnesota is my home state.

I went with family to several outstanding places. The first was Disneyland. Later we saw Disney World, EPCOT etc. I've gone to San Diego which I loved and all over CA and NV especially Lake Tahoe. We drove thru Western Canada biannually for family visits. We always took a different route back. Seeing places like Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore, Banff, Edmonton Mall and Mall of America. Skagway, AK. I've been to NYC to visit my grandmother and also to CT to visit the area my mother grew up in. Seen a lot of WI as I grew up along the St. Croix River. My first college located on the Mississippi River in MN. Been to Duluth, MN and most cities along I-35 from MN down to I think Kansas and over to Kansas City on the Missouri side. Several visits to the west side of Oregon. Lived in North Seattle for awhile. I've seen Northern Lights most my life since I've lived in Alaska most of the last 40 years now. Love the hotsprings. Been to Nome and other amazing villages in AK. I absolutely love driving the highways in AK and I have my favorite route! Been into Denali Park on the bus so I've seen Mt. McKinley many times in my life. Once my family had radio contact with a climbing group. I am proud of winning a Speaker's Tournament and that took me to New Mexico's Glorieta Baptist Conference Center which I've been to twice. In 1997 I went to the Dominican Republic.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to learn about nature. A hobby is fishing. I love to share my life experiences, homesteading stories and the humorous nature of my mother. While there, I've hunted ptarmigan and grouse before and been called 'dead eye dick' with a rifle before (after learning I had to shoot left-handed). I do crafts and and always open to teaching them or learning a new one. But mostly I need to concentrate on getting my own writings publishable. I used to cross country ski and can help teach that. There's a public ice rinks for fun too.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I don't smoke, drink or do drugs and would appreciate my guests follow these while visiting. There is a smoking area outside. I have electricity as I also am a person with health needs that require electricity or generator.
