About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My canvas needs more paint.

ABOUT ME

I live to learn as much as possible about myself and the world around me.
I'm a simple yet zealous individual.
Art is amazing...especially the oldest stuff that we know little or nothing about.
I still climb trees. I run in the rain. I can talk about anything with anybody if he or she is willing.
I travel when I can and I'm looking to travel overseas by my lonesome soon.
I'm a swimmer, runner, and cyclist. Thinkin' about a triathlon in the future.
My list of interests is substantial but a few of them are hiking, backpacking, camping, travel, reading, coffee dates, talking with interesting people, and travel.
I know way too much about coffee and I enjoy a cup every morning...or more.
Nutella is my weakness. Don't give me any...ever.
I could go on and on...feel free to get to know me for more. :-D

PHILOSOPHY

In the beginning, it was brutality. I was forced to trust strangers and to lose sight of ALL that familiar comfort of home and friends. I felt constantly off balance. Nothing was mine except the essential things-air, sleep, dreams, the mountains and the sky. I could almost physically feel myself begin to change. The ruling emotion in my heart was that ultimately the other side of every fear is freedom. And my fears were in my face and I had no choice but to be resolute and self-assured. My decision to travel alone has given me the realization that the key to change is to let go of fear. And facing those fears has given me the freedom to do so. I understand that I cannot go back and start a new beginning but I can start today and make a new ending. This trip was difficult but dauntless, seemingly endless yet not long enough…be that as it may, it was of the highest quality.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm relatively new to surfing and I will have a better answer for this in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Cannot say much here. Only recently have I had an available couch for someone and an interest to travel alone with little money. Your couches will definitely save me some cash.

Music, Movies, and Books

A lot

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A lot of this, too.

Teach, Learn, Share

Distractions are the marrow of restrained progress
Vulnerability becomes a benefaction of success
Vincent Van Gogh once said: If you hear a voice within you say “you cannot paint,” then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced.”
I challenged the above and I unquestionably stand reverenced.

Countries I’ve Visited

South Africa, United Kingdom, United States
