To travel the whole world, get a job that pays for my travel, Ensure I take my parents out of India once and just enjoy life by creating something meaningful for myself and people around me.

ABOUT ME

My name is Deepa Khatri, a simple strong headed woman from India and I love travelling. I enjoy meeting with new people, getting to know about different cultures, food and customs :) I love adventure sports and I believe in God/ Nature (i believe there is one power who created all this) and contrary to being an atheist, i like the concept of religion because it started basically to guide people and differentiate between right and wrong but now it has merely become a tool to divide people. I still do not understand the fact that we still fight on basis of religion and race and fail to understand that we are one race called Human Beings and we are all same.

I am little confused because at one hand I am very attracted to all the materialistic things in world like corporate world, good job with good pay, all digital stuff, having a nice guy etc but at the same time i want to do something meaningful in my life for others for my own satisfaction sake. I want a balance between the above and I am sort of spiritual hippie person, who is trying to gather all possible different experiences in this lifetime, learning from those experiences and trying to understand life at the same time.

I love my parents, they are someone I care the most about and then friends. I want to make them proud of whatever good work I will end up doing in my lifetime.

I love animals and I want a huge farmhouse, where I can have as many pets as possible. I want a man who inspires me to become a better person and loves me and makes me want to have a family with him.

I would like to get a caravan that I design myself on the inside so I can travel around the US in it :)

PHILOSOPHY

Talking about my life philosophy, I would like to tell you that I believe in enjoying the life, the only life given to us to the fullest…….. But how do you that???? Living in present, giving your best shot in whatever you do, doing exactly what you want to do, being ethical and simple. I think Simplicity and hard work are very important in everybody’s life and are not just two keys to achieve Success. I think if you really want to achieve something in your life, just put in the hard work in the right direction, and try and try till the time you do not achieve it, one would achieve if he/she would put in the required efforts.
Whatever you do would come back to you, if you do good, you will get good in return and if you do bad, you will get bad in return….. it is very Universal which lot of people do not believe in. According to me one should just believe in the efforts put in by him/her, and should not bother much about the result because if you would bother more about the efforts and would put the right amount of effort in right direction then result will automatically be in your favors without even being bothered about it
In this competitive life, one has to strive for his/her existence, has to constantly prove himself/herself, has to be very practical in nature but while doing all this struggle, sometimes we really forget the basic essence of life, which is enjoying it, living the moments of life and sometimes we even choose to be unethical, which should not be the case, we should be dam competitive, strong strugglers, big achievers but we should also keep our ethics intact because they again are important to shape a person and his/her life, along with that we should take time out for our own selves, family and friends to enjoy our achievement and success and to feel the satisfaction at the end of the day.
While time passes and we live our lives, one thing which we gain is experiences, good experiences and bad experiences which help us shape our future, sometimes our character and behavior too. Experiences of life are very important again coz they teach us the way of living life as well as the best way of living life. And I think the richest person on this earth is not the one who has the maximum money but the one who has had maximum no. of experiences with different things, people, situations, and circumstances etc., Experiences give the biggest learning and make big people. Big people do not have all the experiences and learning. Experience is what a person lives for in his/her life or rather I should say should live for because that is all what counts in the end.
I as an individual believe in living life super energetically, in present, with ethics, for experience and learning. Hard work, Simplicity, never letting go attitude, striving for your aim till you don’t get it, strong will are some characteristics of an ideal person for me. I do not want to achieve very big things in my life but I want to gain as much experience as I can in my lifetime in different things, with different people, of different situations and circumstances etc., which would improve me as a person and would make me happy, I want to live my life rather than just completing it

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love meeting people from around the world, I love travelling and getting to know about different cultures and living a different but local life by trying their food, language, clothing, music etc. I do not like to travel like a tourist, where you book a hotel and go visit all the famous places. I like to live the life of the people by talking to them, feeling what they feel and feeling the local vibe of a place. This is the reason why I am on couch surfing.
I can host people and I would definitely want to be hosted at the same time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had one couch surfing experience so far. I was travelling in Russia where this girl named Dasha hosted me and she was amazing , I loved being with her and she was an amazing host. The beautiful thing is that how one can just trust on a complete stranger and behave like a family for that span of time spent together. I believe that the concept of couch surfing is brilliant to break the borders between countries and people. I would want to continue having such experiences for myself and create for others at the same time.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - There are many, just to name a few are Into the wild, love me if you dare, and a lot of bollywood movies. I am a movie maniac and like movies from all genres.

Music - I am an illiterate when it comes to music. I am not up to date with the new albums and artists etc. If I like something that I listen, I would copy and keep it in my play list, Sometimes i would not even know who is the artist. And, I only listen to what other people around me are listening. But personally I am a fan of the Beirut band, Cold play, Jagjit sign, AR rahman, Ali zafar etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Honestly I have traveled a bit now, been to like 20+ countries in my life, lived in 5 different countries and I have done so many amazing things until now. Coming from India, from a small city, I never thought I would be travelling to so many countries, but well I was lucky.
The most amazing thing I did was.....once I freed a donkey from a tied rope near my house after coming back from school. Another one could be jumping of the cliff in Mauritius where a lot of people were shit scared of jumping.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think it is a wonderful idea. I believe Knowldge increases only when you share and once you share all u know than u become more thirsty to learn more. This process should alwavs go on.... I think I am a very simple person with some basic human values which i practice mojority of the time like.. trating everyone equally without seeing which race, or background they come from. Being positive etc, is something I can really share.I am sure there are more things people could learn from me but currently I can just think of these :)
In return I would like to learn simple little things from different people who see same things with different perspective, there is nothing specific that i want to learn but learn a lot from everyone i meet in general.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a fun loud person and I have been travelling for quite some time and I have learned few things during the course of 26 years of existence. I am good with budgeting and keeping a check on spending money. I can teach people how to save. I am a very good Project Manager and can manage anything to everything from people, events, projects, spaces etc. so some management tip. I speak hindi and can cook indian food :D
