About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I love unexpected. magical encounters, adventure, seeing how different and the same we all are

ABOUT ME

I enjoy all types of creativity: painting and collage, photography, singing (gregorian chanting),toning, listening to a huge range of music, writing about/promoting musicians(frequently Blues Musicians), dancing (improv, swing, marengue), making silly accents, full moon drumming, intuitive bodywork that is more like improvisational jazz, traveling usually to Italy every 4-5 years, speaking/meeting Italians any/everywhere, and daring to speak deep truths that bring my heart forwards

PHILOSOPHY

aaahhhh...essentially, I am an unusual combination of East meets West, Liberal Catholic by religion, Zen Buddhist by inclination and a fairly regular TM practitioner..keeps me sane.. I prefer to live in the moment, but of course often don't succeed. I enjoy daring in many aspects of life. I want to feel I have fully lived, not just cowered in the corner. I love to encounter my edges and then see if there really is an edge.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new at this. I can offer my home when I am available and I hope to meet some of you in my travels.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

none through this organization. Once after spending a day painting in my favorite coastal town in Italy, (Sperlonga), I missed the last bus to the train that would take me to my home almost an hour away. I must have looked a bit scared since it was getting dark and I didn't have money for a hotel. I was 25, no credit cards. A British couple took my in, gave me a cot, fed me the best meal of my life and even got me happy with some good chiati.

Interests

interests? you name it!! life! arts of all types, esp. painting and photography, singing, dancing, politics, primarily Food politics, (I volunteer for an anti-GMO group), hiking, traveling, languages, cooking vegetarian food, bringing groups of disparate folks together.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

hmmm..where to start? On summer break, when I was a 22 year old art student living in Rome, I decided to hitch-hike by myself from Geneva to Paris. Just outside of Geneva, I was picked up by a man whom I later learned was one of the discoverers of the Black Hole. Once in Paris, I met an artist who worked selling art in Montmartre. We spent 3 days seeing art museums and drawing together.

Teach, Learn, Share
