About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to love. I want to learn. I want to see. I want to feel. I want to do.

ABOUT ME

I longboard. A lot. Skate, not surf, although that sounds fun.

I blog about it here: http:/loveonalongboard.tumblr.com

I like to do other things that are awesome, too.

PHILOSOPHY

Generally, as long as I laugh each and every day, I feel as if I'm doing alright.
Also, I'd like to enjoy the beautiful afternoon.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love a day that I get to tell someone about Couchsurfing who is fully engaged and interested as I'm telling them, but has never heard of it before. I love to watch the concept form as a reality in their minds.//
I met some really great people in Canada while alone on a business trip.// I hosted some really great people in Orlando whether my roommates knew what was going on or not.// I stayed with some really great people moving from Florida to California with a beautiful couchsurfer and her handsome dog.// I've met some new friends that I know I'll keep in touch with for years to come.// I've found out non-cs-ing friends were already couchsurfers, which adds one more reason why we know we're friends.// I got connected with a person that I always felt a connection with, even before meeting.// Thank you, CS, for the good vibes. I hope to find many more.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I think life calls for a good person's couch much more often than an over-priced hotel room. I'd much rather fly a little bit by the seat of my pants, and have the chance to hear stories, and make friends & memories than come back to a bed made with hospital corners, clean white towels, single-serving shampoo, bad face wash, a bible, and windows that never open.

Music, Movies, and Books

Goodwill Hunting, Garden State, The Gods Must Be Crazy, City of God, Almost Famous, etc, etc.

Atlas Shrugged, Harry Potter, The Great Gatsby, The Giver, anything David Sedaris, The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, A Walk in the Woods, In a Sunburned Country, The 5 Love Languages, Rich Dad Poor Dad, etc, etc.

I like music that makes me move. As of right now, Of Montreal, David Bowie, The Kills, Vampire Weekend, Atmosphere, and various indie dance songs make my life. etc, etc.

I'm open to suggestions.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been white water rafting down a river over the tops of trees, I've seen my mom survive brain cancer, I've seen a good friend get fired from a too-comfortable job for standing up for the thing he believed in most to eventually go on and chase one of his biggest dreams, I've gotten in touch and connected with incredible family members I never knew I had, I've laughed, I've loved, I've cried, I've forgiven, and I'm excited to do it all more.

Also, I was in a music video:

Teach, Learn, Share

I love story time, but I'm a Capricorn and I'm left-brained, so I think linearly. I've got a lifetime of stories to tell, but they flow easiest when I have something to relate to. I've found I don't really have a "random story" button. Sit with me, drink a beer, or maybe some coffee, and conversation will keep flowing out of me. I love to talk, but not as much as I love listening and learning.
