Books: Anything on the Sino-Japanese war, all books written by Noam Chomsky, especially 'Failed States' and 'Conversations on U.S. Power in a Changing World'.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1) Backpacking across Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Venice, Milan in May 2008. This adventure was short but the company was awesome!
2) Volunteer teaching at a temporary shelter/high school that was located in a rural part of China which was hardest hit by the 2008 Sichuan earthquake -- the earnest faces of my kids gave me so much joy
3) Jiuzhaigou: Visiting one of the scenic vallies and area of historic interest in China (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jiuzhaigou_Valley)
4) Watching the sunrise on Nemrut Dagi, Turkey

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
