Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

Living to eat.
Embracing the gluten-free life.

ABOUT ME

Hello! Full-time cat mom here! I'm 27 years young born in Los Angeles and raised in Pasadena, CA.
Two years ago I moved to Palma de Mallorca, Spain because I wanted to experience the island life, live by the sea, and climb mountains. I love food, music, traveling, chatting, sharing stories, laughing, being in nature, and cuddling cats and other furry animals. I am interested in learning more about people's experiences and what inspires them to keep living.

PHILOSOPHY

Try everything once. If you like it do it twice. If you love it, keep doing it.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am an active advocate for this site. I stumbled upon it a few summers ago while doing travel research and immediately signed up. Since then, I have spread the word about the CS community. I've hosted several people and met lots of other CS'ers through friends and friends of friends! I also have attended special CS events in the city of Florence. I'm on this site because I want to meet new people with unique perspectives on traveling and life.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only had positive experiences with Couch Surfing. The people I've met are so interesting and inspiring. I always get a little rush when first meeting a CSer in person because who knows what kind of friendship will come out of it! Usually, I give tours of the city (as best as I can) telling the most interesting stories about the place. What famous person lived/ died where, some quick historical facts, and some fun querky things about the place. I try to keep it lively :) I take CS'ers to some cool, local joints and make recommendations for future travel. If I am able to I also connect them to friends or friends of friends who might come in handy.

Intereses

This is definitely the hardest box to fill in because literally everything is interesting to me. But to highlight a few things:

-I have a strange fascination for "people-watching". I do it everywhere! On the bus, on the train, at the cafe, at Target. I like to think about other people's lives: what they do, who they are, and where they come from. Sometimes i ask them, most of the time i just wonder.

I'm not really a big TV person but Breaking Bad is hands down the best show ever. If I am watching something, though, it's probably a documentary or Rick and Morty.

Música, películas y libros

Music: I like most styles and genres, even the weird stuff. Recently I've gravitated towards electronic music, indie pop, psytrance, house and pretty much a little bit of everything that falls under that umbrella. Rock is also one of my favorite genres. Some artists/bands I'm currently obsessed with are:

The XX, Purity Ring, Genesis, Pretty Lights, Blackmill, ZHU, Flume, Die Andwoord, Spirit of Life, Muse, Artic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, Bonobo, Jamie XX, Mo, Nicolas Jaar, Glass Animals,

Movies: I have to admit i have a hard time concentrating so I'm not a big movie-watcher.

BOOKS!! Seriously, this would take forever. I'll never be opposed to reading anything. My favorite book is The Stranger by Albert Camus because it got me through my religious questioning phase.

Algo increíble que he hecho

A few years ago a group of friends and I traveled to Morocco. We went camel trekking though the Sahara and slept under the stars. It was so picture-perfect but couldn't take any photos because I carried a very shifty camera. It was so liberating to see those massive sand dunes!! During the night, we climbed the tallest dune and stared at all the sparkling beauty. Up until then, I hadn't been under a blanked of a million stars in complete silence. It literally took my breath away. In the end, we rolled down the sand dune back to the tent where we parked our camels. It was an incredible experience I'll never forget.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I love learning from people, experiences, trials and even tribulations. I share with others my perspective on life and how to *try* to not take it too seriously--sometimes all we can do is laugh!!

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

-Smiles, good vibes, and open conversations. I like to talk about everything.
-Positivity
-Jokes (sometimes terrible ones)
-If my hosts would like to practice Spanish or English with me, I am happy to help them practice with me.
