ABOUT ME

My name is DEIRDRE BENNETT. Since I joined Couchsurfing, life has changed enormously. I am now married to John and have three wonderful grandsons. We may be more 'mature' hosts, but we are certainly young at heart. We enjoy a healthy lifestyle, exercise, cycling, travelling and family. I am a 'Kiwi' and John is originally from Scotland. We love to travel but also need to work. As we were married in January 2017, our next trip away is our honeymoon. Although we have been together for 10 years.

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy life to its fullest. Have no regrets, but continue learning throughout my life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have enjoyed hosting several young people now. Thorougly enjoy meeting folk and showing / telling about things to see and do. Kinda feel I am seen as a bit of a 'mother' to the young girls :-) All good and it is good to know we can make them feel safe. Many couchsurfers we have kept in touch with. One returned to New Zealand from Germany for our wedding - she is just like a daughter to us.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Two young ladies from Germany were my first intro to hosting CS. Lovely girls who put my mind at ease somewhat. Since then I have hosted CSrs from all over the world and have immensely enjoyed having them stay and sharing about our countries and cultures.

Wide and varied. Not into sci-fi books or movies. Enjoy John Grisham, Ken Follet kinda books and occassionally the odd soppy romance. Easy listening music for me.
