About Me

**PLEASE READ THIS IF YOU FOUND ME FROM CS HANGOUT:**
This is not Tinder and i'm not looking for hook-up! I already have a partner.

I've been on CouchSurfing since 2011 when it was not a hook-up site, simply a place for networking with fellow travelers. And i still see it that way, so please don't message me if you have other intention!

********

I just moved to London in August 2016 to do my postgrad, so i would love to meet locals or travelers, make new friends and explore the city!

I've been living in Bali for three years before i moved to London, before that in Seattle, US, and before that in Jakarta, Indonesia (Where i was born and raised). But i haven't been able to find a place to call home yet, perhaps Bali so far.

But then again, my philosophy now is that home isn't a place anymore nor people, but home is food! Whenever there is good food, then i'm home :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet people from across the globe!

I thought it was bonkers at first when a friend told me back in 2011, you're staying at some stranger's house for free. But hey, it brought me so many interesting experiences and people from all walks of life.

Hearing local stories and histories from the places I visited directly from the locals of course.

Making friends with locals to the places i'm visiting. That's always been my motto. I feel like there's always something missing whenever i visit places and i don't know or meet any locals. Of course, it is easy to meet fellow travelers, but not so much of locals at times.

Interests

culture, film, art museums, photography music (hip-hop and rnb mostly, or very old jazz), books, beach (i love beach, beach is life beach is love. I'm a tropical kid!), people watching, food!

I have a thing for food, i'm a big foodie. It's also one of my quests whenever i travel to try as many local food as i can!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies:
-The Godfather
-Harry Potter
-Once
-Night Train to Lisbon (the one reason why i'm making Lisbon as my bucket list, will be going there soon this 2017 hopefully)

Books:
-The Godfather (i analyze the novel and also the film, but mostly the novel, for my undergrad thesis)
-Harry Potter
-A Little Life
-so many other books i've read and loved and forgotten about over the years... But these days i'm stuck with reading critical theory books, such as Adorno; Walter Benjamin; Foucault; Judith Butler; Homi Bhabha for my postgrad study

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To Live & to travel to America for free, and twice!

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to hear your life story and experiences as much as i like to share mine.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My stories and culture, and travel experiences.

My hospitality: I believe that hospitality isn't only offered by the host, but also by me as the guest. Respecting your home, for instance. South East Asian hospitality and friendliness is the best in the world, i promise you that :-D
