About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live beautifully

ABOUT ME

I'm pretty open minded, honest and independent. I try to find the sunny side of life, while spreading light wherever I go. I am a pretty sociable person and not that hard to get along with. When I'm feeling lazy, I love to listen to Ted Talks or watch a documentary.

PHILOSOPHY

To define one's personal philosophy when not even 1/2 the way through life is very difficult, in my honest opinion, but I guess if I had to sum it up, I'd say, "It goes on and I do my best with that." :) My momma always said, "If you're going to do something, best do it the right way the first time so you don't have to repeat..." So, I guess I'm working on that pretty diligently which can be difficult when mistakes are part of the process.

I strive to live my life as a revolution and not just as a process of evolution, but Rome was not built in a day. With that being said, change yourself, and you change the world. Sometimes, I enjoy being a puddle of cliches because they really have a nice ring to them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've couchsurfed a few times and hosted a few times, but not a lot through the website. I would enjoy meeting people who share similar interests. I miss traveling and enjoy talking to people who are on the move and I think trying new things is possibly the most invigorating experience one can have in the modern world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Excellent ones!!

Interests

I love to read, play music, travel, write, make new friends, hang out with old friends, cook, drink, make art, knit, meditate, do yoga, learn about everythang that interests me, and more. I like to swim and jog sometimes, too. And I have been known to snowboard if there are snow and mountains around.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like rap, rock, hip hop, country, classical, indie, and pretty much anything unless it is very loud or angry. Srrry. I've been really into stuff like Childish Gambino, She & Him, Cocorosie, and Two Door Cinema Club.

I love to read. I especially love fantasy, nonfiction novels, new age, esoteric, scientific, etc. I pretty much devour most literature I am interested in for more than a few minutes. I am currently reading more than 5 books, but it takes me a while to finish them. For example, on my desk, I'm looking at Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain and How to See and Read the Aura. I believe knowledge is power. I don't watch a lot of programming, but it's almost never tv. When I do, it's stuff like this:

My favorite movies are comedy, horror, and out-there movies. Occasionally I'll watch an existentialist movie like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind or a classic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

That moment when you realize how incredibly lucky you are to have what you have and everything that you were stressing about isn't even a blip. If the whole world put it's problems in a pile, I'd want mine back. It makes you want to cry how wonderful life is sometimes. But, it was also at these moments when I realized that not everyone has had the advantages I have had and I want to help narrow the inconsistency in any way I can.

Aaaaand, one time I saw people surfing from a dam. That was pretty cool.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a perfect English speaker, so maybe we could do some kind of language exchange, as I am interested in any languages I do not know. I've played the piano since I was 10, so if you wanna learn to read music, that is easy for me. We could do a meditation/yoga session if you are into that sort of thing. I like experiencing new things.
