ABOUT ME
i think the travel bug was instilled in me at a very young age, from parents who liked exploring the world. i lived in several countries and thought i'd never get enough of it. then i moved to france to study cinema and realised i wanted to stay - that's a great feeling. the traveling doesn't stop though. what i love about it is the spontaneity and the randomness: you never know what is going to happen later today. i find that this is the best way of living (at least at the moment), for it gives you an openmindedness and lucidity that a daily routine in one place tends to take away from you.
and then there are the people: i've realised over the past few years how similar we all are in some aspects, and it makes you feel a lot warmer towards humanity in general. i've come across so many acts of kindness that i'm really grateful for.
let the journey continue..
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've always found that people (and nature) make a place, and the best part of travelling for me is meeting the people that call a place home. i'm floored by the generosity and magic that happens when strangers become friends in the space of minutes spent together and experiences shared.
Interests
pictures and situations - photography and film.. i started out with documentary film, and maybe someday i can make a fiction film. time will show..
philosophising - not namedropping, simply people discussing with people. a friend of mine once said that with every person we meet, we create something, that will potentially grow into something really strong.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
i was wwoofing in southern france one summer with a friend. there was another wwoofer there from america. he struck us as a very balanced, thoughtful person. he told us that he'd quit art school after a nervous breakdown and now works in a grocery store in his home town.
sadly, we had to leave the next day and didn't get a chance to get to know him better. we went to another farm, about 5 hours away from the first one, and spent two weeks there.
on our journey back home, we stopped in montpellier for a few hours and realized that my friend had a train ticket in a different compartment than me. when we approached the rails, there were stairs on the left and on the right leading onto the platform. for whatever reason, we took the right stairs and arrived in front of her compartment. had we taken the left ones, we would have gotten to my compartment. so as we were standing in front of hers, we went inside to see if there was a seat next to hers.. the american guy was sitting there. we were dumbstruck. how big can a coincidence be? that the guy leaves his farm the same day that we do ours, in the same direction, with the same train, in the same compartment, on the seat right next to my friend's.
him and me got off in lyon together and i waited with him for his next train. at some point, i said "there's so much to do in life! so much to see, to experience!" To which he responded, "yeah, there is a lot. but maybe one should do less to really have the time to appreciate what is happening."
it's a sentence that's stuck with me ever since.
