Hello! My name is Delainey and I am a food and friend loving traveler. If I had to choose 5 things I needed in life they would be cooking and enjoying food with friends, enjoying the beautiful outdoors, great conversation, coffee (!), and being active (running, hiking, kayaking). Often my favorite travel destinations are national parks; they are full of untouched beauty, exploration and lovely likeminded people. In addition to the parks, I love traveling to cities I have not yet been. I love live music of any type though I often gravitate toward anything containing a harmonica! I have been a barista for about four years now so my love and knowledge for coffee is refined and I love to teach and enjoy this with others. I am a student studying nutrition so cooking is one of the most important parts of my life. When in the kitchen and around the table I find the best relationships are formed and the best times are had! My style of traveling would be flexible; I work with what I have at the time, weather that be a little camp site or a beautiful room to stay in. It is the people who surround me that have the biggest influence, not the surface I am sleeping on. I live my life enjoying new things while also learning from what they expose me to. Personal growth through experience is my life motto. Cheers!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For the summer I am traveling through Europe and what I most want out of my trip is to meet people and learn about their experience and love for the places I am visiting. By couchsurfing I feel as though I will see more of the area, have great conversation with new friends, and find people with common interests to mine! I am so open to suggestions of things to see, new places to visit and friends to meet.

-Cooking ---baking and breakfast are my favorite. I was a vegetarian for 6 years so I have many good recipes, I am also studying nutrition so I can create a delicous meal with any dietary accomidation!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Two of my bestfriends and I went backpacking for 3 days in Seqoia National Park, California. For the first two days we stayed on the trails, gained many miles, elevations and views. The thrid day we went off trail "back country" and climbed rocks and boulders between two peaks, decended down a snowy mountainside into the most beautiful valley I have ever seen and then made it to a remote lake filled with rainbow trout. The nature was so pure and there were so few people and the views were other worldly. This was one of the most amazing weekends of my life!
