Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm new in couchsurfing! I've started using it because I want to experience a different kind of holiday. I've always stayed in hotels when travelling, but now I really want to do something different. I'm very eager to know local people and also people from different countries in depth. I'd like to enjoy a more adventurous holiday and a more genuine one, being in contact with people who are natives or who are also travelling the world.

Soy nueva en couchsurfing! Empecé a usar esta página porque quiero disfrutar unas vacaciones diferentes. Siempre que he viajado, me he hospedado en hoteles, pero ahora quiero hacer algo distinto. Music, Movies, and Books

I like listening to all kinds of music, but I especially like pop. Undoubtedly, my favourite artists are Taylor Swift,
Lady Gaga, Maroon 5 and Imagine Dragons.

My favourite film is "The Danish girl". Anyway, I generally like comedies and romantic films.

As regards books, I like books on psychology, such as "Historias de diván" y "Palabras cruzadas" by Gabriel Rolón. The last book I read was the best seller "Lolita" by Vladimir Nabokov, which got me completely gripped.

Me gusta escuchar todo tipo de música, aunque me gusta particularmente el pop. Sin dudas, mis artistas favoritos son Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Maroon 5 e Imagine Dragons.

Mi película favorita es "La chica danesa". De todos modos, en general, me gustan las comedias y las películas románticas.

Con respecto a los libros, me gustan aquellos relacionados con la psicología, como por ejemplo "Historias de diván" y "Palabras cruzadas" de Gabriel Rolón. El último libro que leí fue el best seller "Lolita" de Vladimir Nabokov, y me mantuvo totalmente enganchada.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the greatest things I've done was taking part in a cutlural exchange programme in 2018. I was 22 years old and I moved to the United States to live with an American host family. I stayed with them in their house In Los Ángeles for nine months. It was such an enriching experience for me! I l got to know the American culture in depth: its traditions, costums, food, timetables, etc. Throughout those nine months, I worked as a nanny and I took care of my host kid, who in fact was more like a little sister to me. I lived unforgettable moments with my host family! We spent many celebrations together, such as New Year's Eve, Easter, our birthdays, concerts, etc. In addition, I made tons of new friends from all corners of the world and that was what I enjoyed the most. Besides, I widely travelled throughout the USA with my host family, with new friends I made and also alone. It was definitely the best year of my life!

Una de las mejores cosas que hecho en mi vida fue participar en un programa de intercambio cultural en el año 2018. Tenía 22 años y me mudé a Estados Unidos a vivir con una familia anfitriona estadounidense. Viví en su casa en Los Ángeles nueve meses. Fue una experiencia sumamente enriquecedora! Pude conocer la cultura norteamericana en profundidad: sus tradiciones, costumbres, comida, horarios, etc. Durante esos nueves meses, trabajé como niñera cuidando a la pequeña hija de la familia anfitriona, quien en realidad era más como mi hermana menor. Viví momentos inolvidables con mi familia anfitriona! Festejamos un montón de celebraciones juntos, como año nuevo, pascuas, nuestros cumpleaños, conciertos, etc. Además, hice un montón de amigos nuevos de todas partes del mundo, y eso fue lo que más disfruté. Durante el tiempo que estuve en Estados Unidos, viajé mucho a través de todo el país, tanto con mi familia anfitriona, con amigos que me hice allá y también sola. Sin dudas, fue el mejor año de mi vida!

Teach, Learn, Share

As a teacher of English, I'm very keen on being constantly teaching and learning new things. Firstly, I'm into languages and I'd be glad to help you with your Spanish or English. I've been teaching English for more than four years and I had the chance to teach Spanish to my American host kid in the USA. Speaking different languages is always a benefit when travelling abroad and I'd like to help you, in case you are keen on that. I'd also love to learn something about your language, too!

Al ser profesora de inglés, me interesa mucho estar constantemente enseñando y más que nada, aprendiendo cosas nuevas. Para empezar, me gustan mucho los idiomas y me encantaría ayudarte a mejorar tu inglés o español. He estado enseñando inglés por más de cuatro años y tuve la posibilidad de enseñarle español a mi host kid en Estados Unidos. Hablar diferentes idiomas siempre es una ventaja cuando uno viaja al exterior, así que me encantaría ayudarte con eso. También me gustaría aprender algo acerca de tu idioma!

I'd love to share the Argentinian culture with my hosts. Argentinians are very sociable, outgoing, warm and friendly people, and I consider myself to be exactly like that. In case you're interested, I'd like to spend time together sightseeing the greatest places and landmarks in your city and just getting to know each other and our cultures.
