ABOUT ME
I like taking risks. Life's too short, as we all know, to take yourself seriously. I'm a freelance journalist and I enjoy spending time with all kinds of people - especially the ones who are great storytellers.
There are encounters you want to keep to yourself as a secret gift, others you want to develop into matured relationships. Both ways, travelling is an adventure. Keep moving!
PHILOSOPHY
If I am close to any, it would be Buddhism. I enjoy searching for serenity, through my daily activities and conversations. Keeping to the middle path is not easy and would sound weird to many, but I guess it gives me strength.

Btw, if you ever go to Turkey, forget about stereotypes, they won't get you anywhere.
Interests
General knowledge, geography, geopolitics linked to energy issues, social life, sports (running, swimming, biking, diving and karate), and more normal stuffs like movies, books, going out and internet. Drawing and writing are my "escapes".

Music, Movies, and Books
Milan Kundera, Gabriel Garcia Marquez and William Boyd are my all-time favorites. But also Daniel Pennac (French), Paulo Coehlo, Kafka, Zadie Smith, Agatha Christie, William Dalrymple (great writer, traveller and historian), Stephen King, Paul Eluard (I love his poems!), Charles Péguy, Albert Londres (French journalist), Conan Doyle, Karen Blixen, Amélie Nothomb...
Music: pretty much everything.
Movies: thriller more than action. Movies that are hard to understand - like Susanne Bier. Or funny French movies with the superstar Louis de Funès :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I jumped in cold water from a boat when sailing in Milford Sound, New Zealand. I bungee jumped (130 meters or 400 feet) and hangglided in Queenstown.
I saw the aftermaths of the tsunami in Aceh and walked on a scattered road that had been destroyed by the wave.
I was standing on top of the Empire State Building when the wind was so cold and icy during January 2004.
I guess I like extreme experiences.
I went to Turkey and met a woman with whom I spent a day. She managed to give me Turkish clothes, hug me as if I were her daughter, and we parted, crying hard while we were unable to communicate whatsoever. She did not know English, Turkish is a mystery to me. I guess feelings are stronger than words. I wonder if I was blind how much of the world's blissness would I miss.
