About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Keeping state called "happines".

ABOUT ME

"Cats do not go for a walk to get somwhere but to explore"

Ex-traveler, ex-scientist, now enjoying the world of software and manufacturing startups. Share time left after running a startup between family, books, mountains and Ukraine-support projects.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I used to be heavy user of Couchsurfing and Hospitality Club in times when I was a semi-professional traveler.
I think I have above average luck with finding cool people on Couchsurfing :) With some I'm still in touch years later, despite being on different ends of world.

Interests

Collecting stories, talking and reading. Humans are probably the most interesting thing in this planet, can't say for other planets.

Thinking, running, lone mountaniering, having deep conversations (I'm famous as an expert in 15-second small talk), enjoying videogames and cyberculture.
And books, books especially. The only way to befriend or learn something from people long gone or far away.

Music, Movies, and Books

Films - weird, black-white or "classic".
Books, good ones. Read my first longer book when I was 6, can't stop ever since. From business-related stuff, ancient eposes, fantasy (Diune!) to social science and microhistory.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There where pretty a few amazing moments in my life - both negative and positive.
Making an anthropological interview with traditional Kazakh healer.
Made interviews with a few Peace Nobel Prize laureates
Hitchhiking for almost 70 000 km.
Proposed to probably most awesome girl in Europe (and being accepted).

Countries I’ve Visited

Belarus, Brunei Darussalam, Ethiopia, Georgia, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Moldova, Russian Federation, Singapore, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom
