Overview
About Me
My name is Demarian. I'm currently a university student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in English with a focus in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and a minor in Intercultural Studies.
I love good food, good people, and I love life. I would describe myself as intelligent, talented and a genuinely good person; never with any ill intentions. I love making friends. I am very respectful. I'm a really nice guy and I'd love to get to know you :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm here because I want to meet up with anyone who may be in the Texas area. I really do adore meeting new people.
I can host sometimes!
Interests
I have an interest in many things, especially human rights, languages, literature, music, geography, world history, food/cooking, travel, and theatre/performing arts.
I love traveling around the world and I'm obsessed with some countries like Brazil, Egypt, and Iran. The list of countries I'd like to visit besides the ones previously mention include (but is not limited to): Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Argentina, Morocco, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Yemen, Japan, South Korea, Spain, Italy, Scotland, and Ireland.
I also love learning languages. Language is one of the most beautiful and fascinating things in the world to me. Through learning other languages, I have developed/am developing lifelong friendships that would have never been possible if I had remained a monolingual English speaker

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I mostly listen to indie/underground and acoustic Christian music but I also listen to a wide variety of other things as well. I love music. I could break down my favorite genres into maybe five sections (in no particular order): Opera/Broadway Showtunes/Classical, indie/underground/acoustic Christian music, Celtic/Irish music, Soul/Jazz/Big Band, and World (music in other languages and from around the world).
Movies: I love watching movies but I don't particularly have a favorite one to be honest. Typically I like fantasy/adventure the most but I also like dramas and romantic comedies.
Books: Growing up I loved (and still do) fantasy/adventure/fairy tales/mythology, etc the most all the way from the classics to more recent books. Apart from that I love reading the Bible and books on theology/apologetics. I also like to read a variety of non-fiction books, particularly on culture/ancient history.
Some of my favorites: The Bible, The Kite Runner, A Thousand Splendid Suns, Harry Potter Series, The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, The Inkheart trilogy, The Chronicles of Narnia, etc just to name some off the top of my head
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've climbed the Great Wall of China.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love learning. I love communication and genuine dialogue. My love for learning also is why I love teaching. It's great and I love when people can learn from each other and also teach each other.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my own experiences, beliefs, dreams, ideas, etc and I'm definitely great for conversation and dialogue. I think a "fun" person depends on each individuals definition of what that is, but I'm very adventurous and a slight risk-taker so I'm more than willing to join you in most things and activities!
