ABOUT ME

My wife and I love travel, with a particular passion (but not restricted to) Latin cultures.

We love cats, in particular, but do like most animals. We have two new kittens, Moscow and Sputnik. We love them immensely!

We have a motorbike, and while not obsessed, do take pleasure in riding.

We are Christian.

PHILOSOPHY

Try to live without letting selfish motives be the driving force. There is definitely someone greater than us out there...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We signed up while on the road, and since then have both hosted and been hosted successfully a number of times. When we don't have friends staying long term, the futon is available for short stays, and not too many in a row.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Our first meeting, a coffee in Pécs which ended up being a bit of a tour of the region, was a highlight of our visit to Hungary. We have progressively got more involved. Sometimes, it does not seem worth the effort of chasing a couch down, but at others, it has been a real highlight.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love films like Top Secret, or Monty Python. On a serious side, generally non-Hollywood (and probably this is cliché) Foreign films. Really, rarely do movies.

Big fan of Freddie Mercury and Queen, collecting vinyl albums. Jo loves Red Hot Chili Peppers. Musical tastes are quite broad, overall, but do not venture in to rap or hip hop.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Oh, soooo many. Sunrise on Mont Fitzroy, Argentina. Cooking toasted sandwiches on lava in Guatemala. Volunteering with wildlife rescue and working with pumas and jaguars. Seeing a leopard in the wild. Swimming with whale-sharks. There are countless more.

Love to learn to cook a dish in each national cuisine!

Love to share a bottle of wine (or whatever the local alcoholic speciality is).
