Dutch, 22 years old, graduated from MSc Biomedical Sciences (specialisation in Oncology) at the University of Amsterdam and decided to take a gap year to give my brain some rest. I then somehow started my own cookie company which I still (co-)own and run. Now slowly learning how to not lose myself in my career-related ambitions but rather to pursue a life full of experiences, starting with an 8-month trip through Canada, Hawaii (Oahu), Australia and New Zealand. So if you and your friends have room for a solo travel newbie oblivious to all things great in your home country/town, I’d love to join you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To - quite literally - find places to call home at my destinations. I hate being a tourist. I want to feel like I live in the places I travel to, meeting new (local) people, making friends, slowly learning everyone’s stories, joining in on their favourite activities, you name it.

My taste in music is extremely diverse and dependent on my mood, but I mostly listen to rap, hiphop, afrobeat etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ok fine, four things:
Moved to the UK (Liverpool) to do a 3-year degree in Biomedical Sciences
Went whale watching in California
Hiked down and up the Grand Canyon for sunrise
Actually, the whole of the California road trip was great
Hiked up Mount Batur on Bali
