About Me

CURRENT MISSION

1. Learn traditional Malaysian cuisine from locals. 2. Memorize the name of Indian food--struggling at ordering Indian food now. 3. Enjoy being a lazy traveler.

ABOUT ME

I just ended my job as a baker last year and started my world trip in Bangkok in March 2105. I planed to travel for 2 years and show people how to live like a traveler and travel like you live there.

PHILOSOPHY

Dive into the unknown.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

FOR MY FUTURE HOSTS

Hello dear hosts, when I am with you I try to be a good guest!!! That means treating your place as if it was mine and not abusing your kindness. I can also help around the house. I can buy food to cook & eat together. If you host me, I will post a reference.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am very new on CS. But I attended some CS meetings and events while in Bangkok. The experiences were very nice. In my coming journey, I would love to experience the world with my future hosts and learn to be a local from you.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wore all-yellow jumpsuit walking around the campus promoting the coming Art Festival.

Learned Muay Thai (Thai boxing) from the best.

Ate fried crickets and pupas in Pattaya.

Survived 3-day Song Kran Festival in Bangkok.

Teach, Learn, Share

I desperately want to learn bartending and how to handle fresh fish like the guys do in the fish market at dawn or be a SAILOR.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I started to gain interest in cuisine and pastry when I was a collage student. I would invite groups of friends to come to my home and cook for them to get feedback of my cooking skills. I would bake birthday cakes for my friends and bring to the parties. I would give cookies and muffins to friends as gifts. It became a real career after struggling between a few job choices and decided to follow my heart to work as a baker in a coffee shop.

After 1 year of learning in the kitchen, I got promoted as su chef of pastry. That was the time I realized I need more challenge and inspiration in life. I thanked my boss and quit the job to start this world trip of my own. I want to continue my love for cooking and start a website to document what I experience on the journey.

If I can find the ingredients, I would very much love to cook a few dishes or bake some desserts for my hosts to express my upmost gratitude. And it would be my genuine pleasure if hosts can share with me the traditional dish of your hometown.
