Hey! I'm Oksana, I'm 25, and currently I live and work in Kiev. Life gave me a great chance to live and study in the US and also a bit in Germany, and after that I can't imagine my life without traveling and making international friends. I work in digital marketing and really enjoy what I do; I try to travel as much as I can (setting my eyes on Asia and Latin America now) and do some active sports activities.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been on CS for over 5 years and my experience has been only amazing so far. I used to surf more than host, and it's time to fix it now :) I live in one of my favorite cities in the world and I'll be super happy to show it to my guests!

Interests

Sports (snowboarding in winter, wakeboarding in summer), biking, kayaking, also I play tennis a little, reading, working (haha, yes, it's also one of my hobbies), hitchhiking (over 5000 km on the counter), meeting people, talking with people, getting inspired by people. And much more.

Music - mostly alternative & indie rock
Movies - Dr. Strangelove, Cloud Atlas, Eternal Shining of the Spotless Mind
Books - the last one which turned my world upside down was Shantaram by G.D.Roberts. Also I like G. Orwell, V. Zeland

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

* Organized three charitable rock festivals for about 300 people each
* Was an editor-in-chief of a Ukrainian youth newspaper for a year
* Climbed a couple of 2000m high mountains
* Worked as a "living sculpture" in Ukrainian youth theatre
* Got a full scholarship from US Department of State to study in the United States for one year FOR FREE
* Was on world's second highest building (Willis Tower, Chicago) and on NYC's highest building (the New World Trade Center)
* Enjoyed a hot jacuzzi on the roof of a 3-storeyed house in Washington DC in middle December (thanks to my host Darrell Duane!:)
* Performed covers on the Pixies with my former rock band on a stage without the 5th string (the audience did't notice the loss so I was totally happy)...
* Couchsurfed in the United States for 39 days in a row
* Took Highway 1 from Los Angeles to San Francisco. It took two days and in these two days I saw so much beauty I didn't see anywhere else for the whole life
* Saw sunset in Grand Canyon and saw the Canyon AT NIGHT
* Was sold for $31 on International Dating Auction
* Partied on Mardi Gras and St. Patrick's day parades in New Orleans, LA
* Climbed Hoverla (2061m), the highest mountain of Ukraine, in winter, and almost got lost in a snow whirlpool on the way. It was insanely crazy. I uploaded some pics :)
* Met sunrise on the Dead Sea wild beach with a view on Jordan. One of my most incredible mornings.
* Paraglided from 3000m high mountain in Gudauri, Georgia
* Did some body-rafting in Carpathians - jumped into a mountain river and let it carry me laying on the back

... and I believe, the best is yet to come!
