About Me

Šim'ôn from Hebrew meaning "listen":

I'm an intellectual, I love deep conversations, complicated thoughts, but also enjoy laughing and people who instead of going deep just burst out in laughter over everything. It's good to be able to be profound, but still be silly sometimes. I am a romantically motivated melancholic sporadic poetrist. A music aficionado with neverending thirst for unpredictable genres. A non-smoking abstinent (though I am okay if people smoke or drink). I like open mindedness, I meditate, do some amateur yoga and love nature and confronting myself with the cold nature (ice cold baths, rivers, exercise in snow etc.) I am an avid learner in practicing being in the moment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like solo travelling. From what people told me about couchsurfing, this is a great way to get to know open minded folks, who can readily show you around the place they know very well. I believe folks who live in a city will be able to make much better suggestions on what to see and what to do in a city than if I do research on my own, which is also much more boring (reading internet pages) compared to talking to someone completely new from a different country/culture!

Also, I come from a relatively economically disadvantaged country (lol, 1st world problems, I guess if I compared myself to some countries, I would have my mouth shut :D) so sometimes travelling to more expensive countries can be very difficult if you are to pay for a night sleep. Couchsurfer hosts can be a great help with travelling to locations which otherwise I would have troubles navigating and paying for.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I started writing a fantasy book when I was 13 and finished it by 15. It is about the length of Harry Potter book. Then I wrote a sequel to it. Never published it, but I liked to give it to anyone who was interested to read it :D

Teach, Learn, Share

I love productivity, life hacks, various methods and techniques to enahnce learning languages, or anything, be organized, get things done.

I can show/teach you about
- mindfulness and meditation practice
- how you can extend your vocabulary in a foreign langauge quickly,
- how to enhance your learning
- how to stay on top of things in life (with the GTD method)
- how to keep your room tidy (with the KonMarie method)

I recently started doing the Wim Hof method, which is a combination of deep breathing, yoga, meditation and cold exposure - it is not difficult and it feels awesome, we can do some exercises together, you're going to love it!

Also, I can show you a bit on a slackline, if you do it in your country (since it is quite heavy, it is not likely I will bring it on my travels though)

I want to learn more spanish by practicing with native speakers, learn more about different meditation approaches. I want to learn to sing better and produce electronic music. Also, I want to workout more, do more with my bodyweight, so if you know some tricks, or you know good outdoor workout places, you can show me. Also learning to cook something you really like and can do well might be fun!
