About Me
CURRENT MISSION
The ocean calls........
ABOUT ME
In 2003 I sold my house, gave away my possessions, tucked my surf board under my arm and set out in search of 'something else'. Nine years on I am still adventuring, still surfing the seas and oceans of the world, still meeting incredible people, still being shown more kindness than I should have in one lifetime and discovering how enormous the world is.
I write for a living so can do that anywhere in the world whenever the money runs out.
People fascinate me....but not where they have been and where they are going. That doesn't tell me anything. The questions I want to know the answers to are - what makes you laugh? What makes you cry? If you were an animal what would you be? And which stars do you wish upon?
No day is a proper day without sunshine, the ocean and ice-cream. A perfect day also has strawberries, at least one hug and a surf session.
PHILOSOPHY
One lifetime - it's not enough. Make every day count. Find adventures and be ever alert for when adventures come to find you.

Books - couldn't live in a world without surfing or books. Love the classics - Dickens, Hardy, Kipling, Twain, Hugo, Zola, Dosteyevsky, Tolstoy and a zillion others. Modern authors - John Irving, Steinbeck, Sarah Waters, Louis de Berniere, Margaret Atwood, Kate Atkinson and again many more.
Movies - I usually end up saying 'liked the book more' but my favourite movies are usually Kids movies - Labyrinth, Drop Dead Fred, Finding Nemo, The Jungle Book - I know hardly ANYTHING about movies.
