ABOUT ME

I'm from Barbados but I live in France (for the moment) because I am doing the first year of my master's degree there. I'm a pretty friendly person and open to new experiences, especially meeting new people though I can be a bit shy in group situations. I also have my fair share of weird and zany moments which makes life interesting and fun for me and those around me XD. All in all I am a happy person and I like happy people :).

PHILOSOPHY

I don't really have a clearly defined life philosophy. Mostly I try my best to enjoy my life and not get bogged down in its mysteries and the things I can't change. And most of all, I think that as important as it is to acknowledge your past, you should always be looking to the future, moving forward in whichever direction pleases you, always evolving while staying true to who you are.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am almost exclusively a surfer because I am always travelling and never live anywhere conducive to hosting people except when I'm in Barbados but that requires not only for my parents to be okay with it but for the surfer to be okay staying in the house with my entire family there (don't despair, it has happened!). Other than that I do love meeting up with people visiting Barbados and showing them where all the fun times are :D.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Last summer I spent a great week hanging out and partying with a two girls from New York visiting Barbados for Crop Over (our version of Carnaval). It was spectacular!

Interests

Body piercings! Well ear piercings mostly lol! Also, I love to party- that counts right? But before you start to get scared I also love to read, watch movies or just chill with friends like normal people do :). Travelling obviously. And that includes learning about new cultures and if possible learning new languages (just have the two but I'm working on that).

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading fantasy novels, murder mysteries and manga (yes I am pretty nerdy). My taste in movies and TV runs pretty much along the same lines. Also have a strong fascination with korean dramas and tv shows about serial killers (Hannibal, The Following, Dexter, Criminal Minds). With regards to music I am pretty much open to everything (except techno/electro) but I prefer rap (HUGE Eminem fan) and alternative rock music: my fave groups include 30 seconds to mars, Three Days Grace and Linkin Park. I also like some K-pop music especially anything from Big Bang (you should check them out!).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked to the top of Kaiteur Falls in Guyana (highest single drop waterfall in the world). Took everything I had (so not the sporty type) but it was amazing. Some really breathtaking views :).

Teach, Learn, Share

If you really want I can share my knowledge of French and give you an insider's look at Caribbean culture and history, especially in Barbados.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Pretty much the same thing as above. Though I am also perfectly willing to bring over some wine or cheese or other cultural specialty from Bordeaux if I'm travelling from there. Otherwise, a lot of laughter and sunshiney joy XD.
