Hi, I'm Denis from Limoges, France. I live in Montreal since 2014 and I am working as a postdoc in a startup that is developing lasers. I participated in and also organized Couchsurfing events in Montréal where I met wonderful people from all around the world. I will go back to France in couple of weeks to start a new adventure.

I'm fond of improvisation theater. I practiced match of improvisation for many years in France, I created a improvisation festival in Limoges that still exists! So, it is really enjoyable to be in Montreal, where the match of improvisation has been created and where you can attend an improvisation show almost every day.

I like outdoor activities, like biking, hiking and camping. I love sailing too but only when i'm not seasick!

I always enjoy food - typical french stereotype works for me : wine, cheese and baguette will make me happy! I like microbrewery beers. I always enjoy to discover new kind of cuisine.

I am open minded, loving to laugh, loving to have deep conversations about everything.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I enjoy different styles of music as blues, funk, jazz, rock, electro, some kinds of hip-hop (but more "old school") and some classical music.
Some artists I really appreciate: Norah Jones, Melody Gardot, Jamie Cullum, Daft Punk, Grammatik, Cory Henry, Lianne la Havas... the list is so long! I love to see my favorite artists in concert too.

I like TV series like Black Mirror, Dexter, Big Bang Theory, Game of Thrones and, Breaking Bad, Bref, and Kaamelott. I also love movies, as Eternal Sunshine, Could Atlas, 12 Angry Men, Shawshank Redemption, Mommy, Donnie Darko and almost all the Pixar movies.

Books: I really liked Harry Potter, and some classics like 1984, Brave New World and some distopian novels. I also enjoyed classic french novels, but now the books I read are usually about physics or science in general.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Going on stage in front of 500 people, without text... just an idea, and start to improvise!

- The first time I took off when I was learning paragliding

- Scuba diving in Réserve Cousteau, Guadeloupe

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a bit of Physics, many things about lasers, principle of optics and photography, even some improvisation principles!

Open minded, loving to laugh, loving to have deep conversations about everything, loving to share my life experiences and learning about those from others, hanging out with friends, going dancing - I know a bit of salsa ;).
