About Me
CURRENT MISSION
broaden my horizons, expand learning oportunities and laugh while living
ABOUT ME
Just about any activity outdoors is game. When I'm not working I enjoy road trips, international travel (the backpacker kind) a multitude of recreation(snowboarding, mt.biking, surfing, disc golf, poker) and concerts. I am most at peace when body and mind have peaked from exertion, exhaustion I find has a therapeutic role in our lives. Meeting people of similar mind or those whom change my perspectives and spending time with my friends is a major priority in my life.
PHILOSOPHY
Treat people the way you want to be treated. Show respect for the environment or community we live in and do your share by leaving it better than you found it. I make a conscious effort to conserve natural resources whether I'm backcountry living or in the city. Recycling, composting and general green living practices are imperative.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
spreading the word to other travelers not in the know of couch surfing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My experiences thus far are vicarious. I have not been able to host couch surfers since membership nor have I made much of an effort to CS (I tend to sleep in remote locations when I travel), but have participated in group cs activities here in Salt Lake or when friends host.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail (1999, Georgia-Maine). In 2006 I worked for 4 1/2 months at the South Pole Station in Antarctica building science stations. While in College, I participated in Team n' Training, a cancer research charity group which organizes Triathlons, marathons and other fitness themed events to honor, raise awareness and money for cancer patients. I managed to raise $2000 in 6months while competing in a triathlon, a very gratifying experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy making soups in the winter, so teaching someone the basic requirements of building a soup stock is fun, delicious and rewarding. Essential home repairs is another part time occupation of mine, so if you were around you'd likely pick up on carpentry related skills as well as repairing bicycles, snowboard etc. I'm in the process of learning Spanish as I find it useful while traveling abroad.
