CURRENT MISSION

To make the most of each day as it comes. I am about to embark on a female empowerment course, featuring yoga. diving and general empowerment, particularly for women with pain, past abue and addictive tendencies.

ABOUT ME

I grew up in a small village in the north of England, so I only really feel at home in the countryside and by the sea.I love being outdoors and enjoy hiking and horse riding. As soon as I finished college I started travelling and ended up living in Greece,both in Athens and in Nafplion. I also spent five years in Saudi Arabia, where my love of diving began. The sea there is so unspoilt and teeming with life. I have been living in Cairo for the past three years and I feel ashamed to say most tourists have seen more of Egypt than I have ( I intend to remedy this soon), although I can do a good guided tour of Cairo.

I'm pretty high energy,but I take time out in the mornings to meditate-keeps me sane.I'm super inquisitive,curious about everything and a fountain of useless bits of information about the most random and obscure subjects.

I love the Arts; books, music, dance and theatre. I also enjoy photography and writing.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have only hosted until now over the past six years and my experience is that I have only met the kind of people I would love to meet in my every day life. I have not had one single bad experience. I think CS attracts a particular type and if you have a good BS radar, you will never meet those on the dark side of CS. I have always met the most incredible people!

I love books and am pretty well read. I particularly like South American, Middle Eastern and Indian writers.
Musical tastes are very varied. I like rock,classical,jazz and world among others. Basically I listen to anything and everything but don't tolerate bad music.

While snorkelling off a deserted beach in Saudi Arabia I came face to face with a monster on the reef - well it was a 3 metre long Manta Ray really. It took my breath away!
