Hi, my name is Denise. I finished my studies in social work 2015 and enjoy working with people in different ages and cultures ever since. I'm currently planning a 3 months long stay in Taiwan or East Asia in general.

I might be a little shy and not very talkative in the beginning but I just need some time to warm up to others. All in all I’m a fan of deep conversations and group activities. I enjoy spending time with other people and to share my knowledge.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I heard a lot about couchsurfing from friends and people I met on trips. It made me curious after hearing all their stories. It sounded fun.

My passion for traveling grew with each trip and transformed into the dream of experiencing different cultures and nations (and maybe even work there). The simple holiday package might be nice and comfortable when you want to get in touch with a new country first but getting to know the traditions and philosophy of life there only works when you dive in into the everyday life in the specific country. So now I want to get in touch with natives and their living style to learn more about their people and their culture.

So here I am, looking for new adventures to break free from my everyday routine and to expand my knowledge as much as I can.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite Music:
All kinds of pop and rock (k-pop, j-pop and asian pop included)

Movies:
I enjoy watching movies but I'm really bad at remembering their titles and the name of actors/actresses. I prefer comedy, fantasy and romantic over action or thriller.

Books:
I love reading. Picking a favorite is hard though.

Teach, Learn, Share

I’m interested in learning the language of the country I’m staying at and am willing to help out with my German and English language skills. Since German is my mother tongue it's a given that I speak it better than English.

Besides that I love cooking and I’m interested in learning new recipes, my even bigger passion is baking though. It’s just nice creating a small sweet sensation to make people happy with it. If you're interested we might start a baking session at your place. I'm always up to it.

And if you like handicrafts as much as I do or would like to learn crocheting or knitting I'm confident in teaching you the basics.

What I Can Share with Hosts

All in all I love trying out new things. I can put up furniture, decorate rooms and do different kinds of arts and crafts like knitting or crocheting or do handicrafts. Simply said, I like being creative and to create new things.
