I'm Denise, a 27-year-old Brazilian woman in love with people and their stories.

I think my desire to travel and be always on the go is a family heirloom. My parents are Brazilian, but they met in Paraguay where they lived for many years, and my siblings and I were born there. I lived in the country until I was 5 and then we moved to Brazil. I feel like a "patchwork quilt", because in Brazil I lived in three different states and several cities and this enriched me a lot culturally, but when people ask me where I am from I never know what the person is referring to (where I was born? where I spent my childhood? where I lived? where I live?) .

I am in Germany since december/21, after I decided to leave my comfort zone in Brazil and do a year as an au pair. Now I am volunteering in a school with special children. Before I started this job I imagined that I would be the one teaching the children, but every day I am the one who is learning a lot from them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

With every trip I take I get to know myself better. When I am traveling, meeting new people, new cultures and new stories, it's like happiness overwhelms me and that's when I find the best version of myself.
