ABOUT ME
Hey Everyone, I'm Denise.
I'm always looking for an adventure and to learn something new! I started traveling at a young age. I traveled all over Europe in Middle School, spent a year in South Africa as a Rotary Exchange Student in High School, and now I am in college at Kent State University majoring in Applied Communications and minoring in Public Relations and Political Science.
I am friendly and can hold up my side of any conversation. I am open minded, hard-working,random, caring, and adventurous. Being raised by my grandparents has made me polite and a hesitant on risky situations, but I did do the World's Highest Bungy Jump, and took a Scuba Diving course in the Indian Ocean! I like movies, games, cooking, and looking at pictures.I am a strong supporter of peoples dreams! I think people would agree when I say I am a responsible, respectable guest, and I love meeting new people!
PHILOSOPHY
I bought one of those 101 Things to do Before You Die books.. My goal is to try my best to fill it in! I am a little impatient, but a long term goal is important to make and carry out!
When I was 8 years old my grandmother bought me one of those state quarter displays; I was super excited but then I was told it wouldn't be completely filled until I was 16..I thought about giving up, but now looking back I stuck in there for its completion and itâs now a symbol of perseverance and patience.
The best things in life take effort and don't always come easy.. but be strong and make it happen.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now I am looking to surf, and when my life changes a bit I would love to open my home to hosting surfers!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had the best time with Couch Surfing so far, I've stayed with people in Chicago, Pittsburg, LA, San Diego,San Clemente, and Tijuana! So, so many awesome and friendly people out there!
Interests
I love listening to music, I went to Lollapalooza 2010 for the music not for the rowdy crowds!( I did enjoy both.)If you were there you probably remember the rain with no shelter, that was my favorite part! I am easily entertained and can find pleasure in the simple things.. I never have the chance to sit around and say "I'm bored"... I have survived my whole childhood without a T.V. in my room.. I like learning new things... I have a bucket list.. I will try everything one and if I like it make sure I do it again! I am a dreamer, but do my best to little by little incorporate them into my life. I like to share, because if you share something you will find more enjoyment in it! I value my friendships and do everything in my power to help those in need. I am doing a mission trip for 10 day in the Bahamas!

Music, Movies, and Books
I like books like The Giver, Ferinheit 451, Animal Farm, and In Cold Blood.(yep I did just list off books that would be on a high school reading list) The fact is I liked the books a lot more reading them after High School when I didn't feel forced to read and over think then.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My time in Africa was amazing, I was there for the 2010 World Cup and got a couple tickets. Being at the game was not as exciting as being in the country to observe the press coverage and the way the natives supported the event and made it a friendly experience.
I have great memories of swimming in the Blue Lagoon! Crystal clear waters, colorful fish, hot rocks to climb all over! You have to experience it.. it also refreshed me after feeling sick on the ferry over.
