About Me

Hey couchsurfers and hosts,

I am a young artist, currently living in the Netherlands with my girlfriend. We are both originally from Bulgaria, young, open-minded and looking for new experiences.I have only recently heard of this site by word-of-mouth I am really excited and looking forward to being a part of this movement. The stakes are high, we want to see Europe (to begin with :D ) with all of its diversity and multicultural beauty.
Already traveled quite a lot, I feel like it is becoming some kind of an addiction: This feeling of being a stranger, walking on the streets with the map in hand, desperately looking for an informational sign, the insecurity of actions that is combined with the charm of a certain city makes my body trembling, even only by mentioning it.
Overall, we are seeking for new horizons, new friends, enriching ourselves and feeling free to be wherever we want.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As an artist, an ambition of mine is to travel around the world, meet people from different nationalities, get the chance to touch their culture and traditions and use these as a reference point to my art. Experiences and visuals for me are the two most precious gifts for a person that does not seek for momental recognition and hype: So that is my motivation to be Couchsurfing. For me, visiting a country is not only about seeing its famous sights, but also about feeling the vibe of the place, more precisely the people that are making that vibe - the way they are expressing their happiness and interacting with each other.

Moreover, I think that being a tourist is really a confusing and stressful experience. This, combined with the lack of time, makes the whole trip hard to digest by our senses, whether we liked it more, or was it more of an unpleasant one. Couchsurfing, however, offers you local and friendly guests, who can help you plan, guide you, or can tell you about places that only locals know about ('tourist-traps' are not that appreciated by me since the whole hustle-and-bustle there takes all the pleasure away).

But the best is that you can actually expand your knowledge, enjoy your time and make good friendships, based on trust.

Interests

Currently, I am mostly involved in pursuing my career as an Illustrator/Designer/Artist. However, as a young person I like to be active, personally and socially: Any type of workshops, exhibitions and events attract my attention. I like going hiking, long walks in the city, biking and having interesting conversations.
