About Me

NOTICE: I prefer hosting people that have already hosted someone from the community. If you're a newbie to the site, you can try sending a personalized message explaining why you joined the community :)

Do note that I prefer hosting 2 or more people at my apartment since it's better for your overall experience (in case I'm busy or we don't click). Also, I tend not to host any less than 2 days - it's just a matter of preference where I'd like to socialize with fellow travelers and have a great time together, rather than being just a free place to stay at in order not to pay anything. The last should only be a plus to the EXPERIENCE made on the journey - the only thing that we vividly remember by the passing of time.

“If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.”

"Poor is the man whose pleasures depend on the permission of another."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because it looks like a convenient place for anyone that wants to travel. You shouldn't feel restricted from visiting new places or meeting new cultures of the beautiful world we live in.

I, for one, think that this is a great way to help other willing people with reaching new horizons because it's a necessity for one's sanity in this rushing world. I'm also here because I look up to meeting new people that I might have some interests in common or to whom I could help.

Interests

I'm curious about everything. I don't think there is a topic I wouldn't like to talk about. Personally, I'm led by achieving a balanced life throughout everything I do - trying to see the beauty in the harmony of both good and bad.

Simply said - not fond of extreme and deluded hippies, nor tyrants...yet you could learn something from both by evaluating the genesis of the character.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to pretty much everything. The music I enjoy the most is synthwave, disco, 80s, deep house, oldschool rap, soul, blues, classical music, and ethnic Slavic songs.

Regarding the books and movies I like, Tolkien's literature and its movie adaptations are my huge passion. Other than that, I've also enjoyed reading "The Great Gatsby", "The Art of War", and Plato's work. The last good book I've read was "A Higher Loyalty" by James Comey (ex FBI Director). I'm reading Neuromancer by William Gibson at the moment, but Croatian translation is so god awful.

Movie and series junkie...IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/user/ur88287859/

I'm somewhat typical "geek" that loves Sci-Fi and highly philosophical things... and dank memes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hosted girls from England - decided to host them for few more days. Just before they were about to leave the apartment, they asked me if I would join them on their travel. I just packed up some of my stuff and went for a hitchhiking trip down to Zadar. Had some crazy-ass drivers - a group of guys driving a NL rally with some over-the-top decorated truck, while continuing our trip with some really shady Albanian guys that were well "supplied".

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you some Croatian or Photoshop/Illustrator basics if you're looking to get into graphic design.

Apart from that, I'm trying to learn Russian on my own, but I'm considering universal Arabic as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

In case I'm travelling - I'll probably bring some rakija. Apart from Croatia's No.1 home remedy, we can spend time together doing whatever you'd like - I prefer being on the move at all times whence I travel.
