One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I climbed the FUJI mountain in Japan with my brother without much preparation : sneakers, short pants, one sweatshirt, one pair of gloves for two people, no light torch, snacks and one bottle of water, fishing hat.
We climbed up the mountain halfway, then decided it would be a shame to go back down. So we climbed all the way to the top. However when we reached the top, it was past 5 pm and the sun was setting down.
We walked down the slope full of gravel with pain (stones would get into our shoes and hurt our feet, our thighs would get cramped...) and suddenly realized it was pitch black out there and we were stucked in the middle of nowhere : ahead of us some bushes blocked our way. We could not take the risk to penetrate inside without light.... It was getting colder and colder and could not spend a night out without water.
Fortunately we met two Japanese : a father and his son. They nicely bring us to the parking lot and would also bring us to the closest station. Jeez we felt so bad : our shoes were full of muds but still they would let us sit in their cars.
It was a bit frightening but I don't regret it : I have learned to not overestimate myself and realize that wherever I go and whatever Ido, it may make my relatives and friends worried.
Besides, sometimes travelling without too much preparation reveal to be worth and bring about valuable encounters.
