Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I just love the concept so much. Tried it back in the early days (2010 I think) and now that I am finally doing some serious travelling again I really adore being a part of the community again. The spirit just speaks to me, since I am way more interested in seeing new places from the eyes of the people living there rather than going through all the tourist-y sort of stuff. I've been hosting back when I still had a flat and now that I'm taking a gap year, I've had the pleasure to meet tons of people through CS along the way.

Movies:
I just like all sorts of things: From (sort of) romantic movies like Before Sunrise, Blue Valentine and About Time to most of Tarantino's stuff I can get behind pretty much any genre. Some of my favourite current filmmakers include: Ryan Coogler, Martin McDonagh, Alfonso Cuarón, Edgar Wright, Steven Soderbergh.

I am also a big TV nut, although I haven't had the time recently to really dig into a show. But I love shows like Breaking Bad, The Wire, Game of Thrones, The Good Wife, The Office etc. I also enjoy thoughtful comedians such as Bo Burnham, Hannah Gadsby and John Oliver.

Books:
I mostly read non-fiction these days, love everything about popular science, politics, with the occasional celeb-biography being my guilty pleasure.

Music:
Really depends on the occasion. Generally I have a weakness for 90s/00s Alt-Rock and everything that tries to sound like 90s Alt-Rock (some recent favs are Slothrust, Charly Bliss and Speedy Oritz if you're into that sort of thing).
But I am also partial to the classics like Pixies (god I love the Pixies), Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, Queens of the Stoneage, Blur and all that good stuff.

Other random musicians I enjoy: Fiona Apple, Grizzly Bear, Metric, The Rapture...

Visiting Bruges during a 18-hour layover in Amsterdam.
"In Bruges" is one of my favourite movies, so I had to see that beautiful medieval town myself. So on a whim I decided to just take a train from Amsterdam airport to Belgium, to get to Bruges and then the next morning took the first train back in order to catch my flight. And boy, was it worth it. Just spending the night there, wandering around, was absolutely beautiful.
