ABOUT ME

I have graduated from Galatasaray High School, studied philosophy and sociology in METU. Then I have changed my mind and instead of doing academic career, I have done my MS at Information Technologies. Now I am an IT guy and working in IT.
I like travelling and meeting new cultures. I have worked in Athens for 14 months in 2010. Since 3 years, i am living and working in Paris.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have heard about CS from one of my closest high school friend. He told me about CS and that he is meeting with new people from other cultures. He is visiting Istanbul with them and talking with them in English. When i heard that i have said "hey dude, i am in! (in Turkish)". Firstly, I have participated to the Books and Movie meetings in Kadikoy, Istanbul; the sessions were beneficials. Then I have participated some weekly CS parties in Kadikoy.
But I have started to live CS spirit in Athens with the events that i have participated and friends that i have gained. CS made my adaptation period in Athens easier and joyful.
In India, my CS friends showed me around.
In Istanbul, I have hosted many people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

You never feel alone wherever you are in the world, when you are a CSer. I love it!

Music, Movies, and Books

This part is important for me.

Books: Crime and Punishment, Kinyas and Kayra (by Hakan Gunday), Possessed (Albert Camus, this is a play adapted from Dostoyevsky's novel), Mr. Vertigo(Paul Auster) actually i love all the books of Paul Auster, he is my favourite writer; Alchemist, Lord of The Rings series, Earthsea series (by Ursula Le Guin). In general, i like fanastastic literature.

Movies: Fight Club, Shine (life of David Helfgott), Amadeus, A Beautiful Mind, Modern Times(Chaplin), Far (Nuri Bilge Ceylan), Matrix, Dolls (Japanese production).

Music:
I mostly like classical music.
Mozart, Bach, Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Idil Biret (as pianist), Fazil Say.
Operas: the marriage of Figaro (Mozart), Turandot (Puccini).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
